Verdasco NYC Practice w/ pics and vids.

Before my practice session at Riverside Park clay courts today my coach told me that Fernando would be coming in to hit for an hour. So I stuck around after practice and sure enough he came! He went to court 1, which is right by the cement seats, and about 15 people were watching. He just hit very relaxed, but he's just passing through NYC so I didn't expect anything different. After he was signing and taking pictures with some people. Usually I don't get to see pros in person till late august but today I got a little lucky.

lol.On the internet, doing this is equivalent to dividing by zero in Math.

Yeah they even put on some new clay and brushed the lines about 5 times. He came in at 5 and he was hitting with someone i couldn't even put a name to, looked like someone who lived in the city though (the hitting partners family was there too.)

Thanks for the info, yes it does look like the clay is thicker in addition to being wetter, while the adjacent courts are the usual Riverside desert storm

Tell me about it, I was playing on verdasco's court before he got there and it was like all the others from the start, then right as i'm leaving they put in their insane work on the court.

Yeah, those people are pretty ridiculous with court maintenance. Thanks for the photos, looks like some random Adidas person there – is that who he was hitting with? I like how his tfight 320 18x20 is painted by the way, pretty funny

It is customary to hold even the most pathetic chokers and Raonic pigeons to a slightly lower set of standards when they show up at local courts

Ha, the hitting partners son/nephew was there and got to hit with verdasco, after the kid was talking about dunlop with fernando lol.

No the adi guy was i'm guessing the hitting partners coach.

Dasco's long, clean forehand is the perfect candidate for a high SW in the 360-370 range. I think he would benefit from a spec change, especially for those 40-0 match point choke moments vs. Soderling. :mrgreen:

Yeah I was joking, I have no idea what he (or anyone) plays with. Thanks for the thread though - this is a solid informative piece of investigative tennis journalism.
