Great book, really enjoyed reading it.
Absolutely you have alt right derangement syndrome. I read all perspectives unlike you Barty boy, I could even argue your side better than you.
... which actually appears to be the 2nd half of this one:
it was a pleasant readingThis looks rather interesting. Britain has quite the talent for travel books. Part of the charms of empire, undoubtedly.
it was a pleasant reading
the posture of the author wasn't too 'empire-biased' even you can (mildly) feel that if it was written during colonial times, of course.
she rathers chooses to focus on her contemplation of the (resplendiscent!) nature, her/our place in all this, and enjoys to be far from everything...
another british author (and other mountains) at the moment :
peter hopkirk - trespassers on the roof of the world
i'm glad i skipped the hunting part, then!Apparently her first book was all about hunting and featured the death of her father by lion.
This led to somewhat of a more chastened view of wildlife.
Maybe her French-Swiss father was the real great white hunter of the family.
In any event, her three books all look fascinating.

does 'women' include 'mother-in-law'?...On the SS Titanic these days it would be, women, children and pets first.

You must've read Sir David Spiegelhalter's baby companion as well, below?Oh a book I forgot to recommend, if you ever wanted to get a better grasp of statistical practice (be it scientific studies or deep learning algorithms) check out Spiegelhalter’s The Art of Statistics. Very readable and non-mathematical treatment of the topic.
Afraid not, which book are you referring to?You must've read Sir David Spiegelhalter's baby companion as well, below?
Oops, I thought I've included the book cover, anyhow it is The Norm Chronicles: Stories and Numbers Anout Danger and Death. Co-written w/ Michael Blastland, treading in the vein of The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford, and Predictably Irrational: . . . by Dan Ariely.Afraid not, which book are you referring to?
. .You've spent your adulthood in bathhouses going down on your brothers, so 'advantage you' when it comes to the Titanic. You spent all your childhood in the bath with your mother playing ships and harbours, so you have the advantage on me when it comes to marine matters.
. .And another thing: . lay off the mothers. . I just got off yours.
..
Sonny boy: you mistakenly posted "SS Titanic"Still indulging in your perverse love of stalking ... as well as necrophilia.
We already knew, you can tell a mile away.Haven't read a book electively since 2008. And before that it was probably Goosebumps as a kid.
I think I've said this before, but let me reiterate that your book reading efficiency is astonishing. You read in 1 weekend more books than @WhiskeyEE reads in one decade. Congrats!A colleague lent me two of his three Mohsin Hamid books: (perhaps I'll read it this Sunday, else will return it pronto come Monday. I was more interested with the third book, Exit West)
1) Moth Smoke
and
2) The Reluctant Fundamentalist
My bookshop owner friend reads four a week, minimum. I'm really a slowpoke, however, I do keep a journal jotting down essential stuff.I think I've said this before, but let me reiterate that your book reading efficiency is astonishing.
