Reminds me of Carl Uwe Steeb (look him up those who don't know who that is), a solid game, an all arounder instead of the typical "specialist" of this era, so yes more like the days of yore.
I like his ability to hang tough in a close match. When he loses in those situations he is truly beaten by the better player that day, not because he's had a hirnf*ck and hit several dozen unforced errors.
Solid in doubles and singles. A good contender. I always like to see him play.
