What really was the difference between Nadal/Djokovic in 2010 to 2011? US Open comparison.

There are more eagle eyed experts here than I am, what were the main differences? In 2010 Nadal was hitting hard, even his serve and he reverted back to his old serve because of shoulder issues. Djokovic's backhand and forehand weren't penetrative, in 2011 Nadal's ball landing was shorter allowing Djokovic to dictate play. Everyone talks about the evolution of Djokovic in 2011 but was part of that to do with Nadal's level dropping from 2010?

It’s both. Djoker better and Nadal worse. The serving in the final in 2011 was weird and terrible, they were rolling it in during that epic 3rd set.

Overall I thought the 2010 was more fun to watch.

2011 was a lot more intense though, that third set level 10 baseline play. It doesn't get higher than that.
