What shoes can I try to keep my heel from lifting and provide support?

A problem I have when buying shoes is my heel tends to lift. My current shoe is the original Asics court FF, but they're all pretty beat up now. I tried the FF 2 and my heel is lifting and I don't feel like I have the stability I need. I also strained my calf muscle so I'd really like to make sure I have a good shoe.

The Nike Zoom Zero is amount the best in that regard.

Lotto might be a surprise fit if you want to try something different. I wore them in the pass and they fit like a glove. I've walked away from Nike completely these days, i'm not getting the arch support. Ubersonic 2 seems to have the heel cup feel and ample of lateral support. The tongue-less design is a bit of annoyance.

The heel cup of the FF2 is definitely more shallow than that of the original FF. However, the FF2 runs long and it may just be that you are in the wrong size FF2. I have played in the FF2, ZZ, and the Lav and the heel cups of the ZZ and Lav are deeper and I have not experienced heel slippage in either of those shoes, but all the bootie shoes seem to run long and I have gone down 1/2 a size in all of them to get the correct fit.

If you have a narrower heel like me, try the Stycon, which is technically not a mid cut, but will 'lock' you in more. All other shoes I wear Thorlo TMX13s to feel locked in, except the Cage 3 and Stycon. Asics is known for shallow heel collar even from the older shoes. I think it's designed for people with thicker heels and/or players who wear ankle braces/tape.

New Balance LAV. I haven't experienced any heel lift/slippage.
Second that. Better heel cup hold than the asic speed solution they replaced.

Same here. Just bought a pair. Long time court FF user. First time trying on it seems the Lav’s lock the heel even more than the FF’s - not in a bad, uncomfortable way...just feels really secure. They are a bit heavier than the FF’s, but not to the point of being clunky.

The Lav's seem like the way to go. It's been a while since I've tried New Balance, but I'll give it a try

I’d try a lace lock before completely giving up on the shoe, I use custom insoles and do one on every shoe to make sure I get the heel lockdown. It’s easy to do, YouTube has hundreds of videos on it.

Ive never had luck with ASICS shoes and experience heel lift with every pair I’ve tried. After trying at least 10 different pairs of tennis shoes currently on the market, I always seem to come back to the Nike vapors... nothing seems to match its ability to lock down my foot.
