when I usually get my raquet strung, it costs about 30 bucks. I know there is cheaper string out there, or cheaper service haha. but i like Wilson Extreme 16 syn gut, i seem to generate a lot of spin. what are other good lower-priced strings I should look into? and I use head raquets, any good head strings?

The string only costs $3.50/set for 1 racquet( Wilson Extreme 16 syn gut), from TW. The pro shops get them even lower as they get dealer prices(I use to have a dealership with a major co. years ago, and the mark up on strings was significant back then! There was not as many types or choices back then either.)
Since you can purchase it yourself for $3.50 from TW, you may wish to string your own.You are paying more for labor rather than for the type of string that you are using.
Other option look for someone else who will string with your type of string, maybe you can get a better deal elsewhere.

30 dollar stringjob for a $3.50 string? thats ridiculous! When i pay $30 dollars, I'd expect natural gut. Plus, Wilson extreme synthetic gut doesn't last 2 long.

what are you talking about? natural gut is a $30 string. so you expect the pro shop to make 0 dollars off of the string and 0 dollars off the labor?

if you want to save money, buy the string at TW and have the shop string it and they will only charge for labor

what about head strings?

and I think im just going to buy single string packs online and have my friend that owns a stringing machine do it for 5 bucks. i liked to support my small, local tennis shop but after knowing i could get my racquet done for under 10 bucks when i was paying 20-30, i think ive supported him enough haha.
