When Injured? Quit or Finish?

We've seen a million posts on the subject in various flavors

So, let see what the numbers show.. this gives some idea how many ppl are against a player retiring versus completing the match.

When a player is injured (now the biggest debatable point is the extent of injury and WE WILL NEVER KNOW THAT), so lets take it at face value (for this poll's sake), should that player risk bigger injury to complete what is an obvious result or just retire.
Now if its a final, it's a entirely different debate

maybe i'm a noob coz i don't see the poll (i did see the emperor's new clothes, though!), but i think that since we can't know the extent of other ppl's injuries or know how bad they're hurt, i don't have a problem with an injured player throwing in the towel if it means that they don't run the risk of ending or shortening their career. does that mean that every retirement by a player claiming to be hurt is legit? no, but i'm okay with that if pros are able to make intelligent decisions about the longevity of their careers.
