Where does djokovic's 2015 season stand, so far, in history?

Has he had the one of the best 9 months of tennis ever?

Is it comparable or arguably better than his 2011 season during this time in 2011?

Considering djokovic's amazing start in 2011, where do we rank djokovic's 2011 season, as a whole, compared to other great seasons in history,?

It has to be right up there...I've been a firm believer that his performance in 2015 has thus far eclipsed his 2011 season, dare I say his performance at the USO will ultimately dictate how history remembers it though.

In regards to where it stacks up compared to other great seasons, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one up until this point and possibly even beyond...if he's to win USO and then at least one of the final 3 big tournaments (2xM1000 & WTF) it becomes a no contest in terms of best and most dominant season ever.
Hell even if he doesn't win another tournament for the year his 2015 season still makes a compelling argument for best ever.

No, it doesn't. If he wins just one of the final 3 big tournaments, he'd have:
3 Slams
1 Slam runner-up
4 Masters
1 WTF (or a 5th Masters)

Compare that to Federer's 2006:
3 Slams
1 Slam runner-up
4 Masters
1 WTF

If you look beyond that, Federer has 4 more titles in 2006. Djokovic, so far, has 0. And I haven't even brought up Laver's 1969.

No way in hell. Not even close. With 2 Slams, it wouldn't even be Djokovic's best season.

Stop comparing him to Federer. Oh God these Federer fan's drive you nuts. 2006 was during the weakest era in tennis history !!!!

Yeah fair points....don't get me wrong I'm a Fed fan but I just feel Nole's dominance and consistency at the big events this year has been quite remarkable! I also feel that other than Nadal at FO, Fed was a significant class above the competition back in 2006 and it was almost fait accompli when he stepped on the court back thena...not that this should diminish his achievement and a similar argument could be made for Nole in 2015, although I do still feel the overall competition is a bit closer now than what it was back in 2006, even if the rankings don't suggest so!

Agree however that I was maybe a bit premature and for Nole's 2015 to be greatest ever season he does need USO and WTF...another M1000 would then put it well beyond doubt!

The USO, the WTF, and another Masters would make it the second greatest season ever behind Laver, though I can see arguments for Djokovic's season being greater because of certain tour conditions back in 1969.

Djokovic took advantage of the fact that the field was headed by the weakest slam winner in history who has only managed to peak at 7 in the world this year (his peak).

Probably among the best in the group of seasons where only 70-odd matches were played by someone in singles and doubles.
