Who can't tell the difference between polys

Are there many of you that cant tell the difference between polys. I've only used polys a couple of times. the first time was with unique big hitter and this time was with volkl v-rex. It was a while ago that i used big hitter but from what i remember both felt very similar. are they actually similar or am i just not that sensitive to the differences in polys? or are all polys similar to each other?
i can tell the difference between most of the nylon strings i've used.
im trying to figure out if i should spend money on better polys or if i should just get cheaper ones like prince polygut or klip hardcore
i just know that i play better against some people with polys

are there any polys that can be as powerful as synthetic gut (mono) when hit flat?

The v-rex and big hitter are both similar. Both are good poly choices. Both play nicely. Not much difference.

I feel more a difference between cheap 3 dollar polys compared to the more expensive kind .. around the 10 dollar range. The cheaper ones moved a lot more after hitting, plus they felt stiffer.
