verdasco has the biggest forehand on the pro tour. and for the record safin has a bigger forehand than tursonov, saw them absolutely crushing the ball at each other in practice and safin was definately bigger off both sides.

monfils huge as well.

On the female side i SAy the William sisters they have the fastest serve in the game best backhand and forehand and one of the best foot work especially venus even the long lasting matches they win even though vneus might break down under pressure. On the males side Back hand i have to go with Federer forehand and serve i say Roddick althought his not the smartest player his the hardest hitting player.

Forehand- Blake can really whip it
Backhand- Fed
Overhead- Roddick
Volleys- No one ever hits those hard

This is about who hits it harder not who has a better stroke,so while Federer has a lot of variety of his backhand side there are a some guys who hit harder than him,Calleri for example he absolutely crushes the ball but he also makes a ton of errors. As for forehand yea,Blake and Gonzo can really whip it.

ill have to go with safin... as somebody else said efortless power. But certainly you can put on that list to Calleri, Gonzales and Tursunov. Blake does have power but converted more on speed than heaviness (is that a word?)

Ah, btw: my vote goes for Safin, too. There might be some who hit one shot or another harder sometimes, but on average Safin's power and how effortless he does it, is just intimidating to me.

Roger Federer. I think his power is in his ability to play every aspect of the sport well and consistently. Sure, there are areas that could be improved but he is so impressive on court. Some players hit very hard which can be construed as power, but unfortunately that is where their talent lies. IMO.

this threads needs to be clarified. If power means pure speed, that's one thing. but if spin is included, that's different. For example, Sammpras never had the fastest serve, but the speed + kick was devastating... his serves really exploded into the returners.

anyways, dealing just with pace, i'd like to see Connors hit his backhands with modern equipment... scary!
