An entirely unoriginal take but Kournikova and Ivanovic certainly have/had very well-proportioned bodies and sweelt pleasant & expressive countenances. I like that they seem like ultimately good-natured, well-grounded women too, embracing family life.
That said, there are multiple ways to look appealing. I actually like Barty's look, round curves are curves too, she's kind of cute like a big teddy bear
I do have an aesthetic appreciation for Borg's and Edberg's serene looks. Edberg still looks as polished as ever, born and bred gentleman. Borg now looks like a wise patriarch, which also suits him great. Safin oozed power. Young Rosewall looks quite handsome on those classic pictures. On the flip side, Lendl and Pete didn't look very lovely but it didn't matter. I think the ugliest top player I've seen was Todd Martin. I was struck how crude he looked, made of misshapen blocks indeed. Well, better look ugly than be ugly on the inside like certain players.
Ivanovic has a gorgeous face of course, but her body well-proportioned? I don't know about that. Jankovic has/had a much nicer figure.
And Sampras was conventionally good looking, I don't know why you say "didn't look very lovely". I guess it's just your personal taste.

Yes, so that was expected. Doesn't mean hair is always ugly, as I said Pete's looks changed as his features hardened so he no longer looked so suave.

women: Genie Bouchard, that was easy. not even peak Kournikova comes close IMO.
and before someone will come to say the expected "only women and gays should judge men’s looks (and vice-versa for women)" both genders are perfectly capable of determining whether a person of the same gender is good-looking or not and how much, the only difference is the lack of sexual attraction. Just though I’d better explain it now than later.
Bouchard's chin and monkey-like long arms were always a turn-off for me. Gulbis sure is a looker.
