Now we all know Nadal would badly want to be in Medvedev quarter and badly want to avoid in Djokovic quarter but what about Tsitsipas/Zverev, whom does he feel more comfortable in a Rg Qf. I think it's almost even though think Tsitsipas Rafa would want as in a night match that is better than Zverev who is a bad matchup for Rafa and can be tough in night conditions to hit through

Zverev is definitely the tougher matchup. But in DO night conditions both will probably blow him in straights.

I honestly felt that the earlier Nadal can meet Djokovic, the better.
Djokovic is always susceptible for an upset in the first week. But they can't meet earlier than the QFs. Nadal might have his best chance there as opposed to SF and Finals where Djokovic is at peak level and mentally dialed in.

Zverev is a more difficult matchup for Nadal if they play with a closed roof. Zverev doesn't fear him and seems to up his game when he meets one of the big 3 members. Zverev hits huge and it bothers Nadal at times. Especially the Zverev BH.

Well Nadal is a Top 10 player so I guess he'd rather have Zverev

Zverev still not having a top 10 win in Bo5 is probably the only thing holding this poll back from being a blowout. On paper he's a much tougher match-up for Nadal than Tsitsipas is, despite the Greek generally being the stronger clay court player. He's 6'6" and his biggest strength is that 2-handed BH, he should not be hurt by Nadal's lefty topspin like Tsitsipas is.

There's no reason Zverev shouldn't be able to beat a 36 year old Nadal in less than peak shape. But we still know he won't. Bull will keep just enough balls in play to keep it close and create pressure points where Zed will double-fault his way out of the tournament.

That's classic TTW.

100% this. AlexZ’s first top 10 in slams win will not be against Nadal at RG. For what it’s worth, Tsitsipas’s BH doesn’t get completely destroyed by. Adal’s FH and he’s played him tough, but he should be the easier matchup since Chainz actually has a good BH. Chainz against Nadal winds up getting plenty of opportunities in plus situations but his FH doesn’t put points away (similar to what Meddy had at the AO).

Bottom line: both can take a set maximum even against 36 year old Baldal/Ribdal/Footdal.

Rafa would definitely prefer Tsitsipas.

Even a very poor Rafa beat Tsitispas last year and Stefano's level is way below last year.

Son, wanna bet Id if they don't destroy him at RG?

He would prefer the mental midget Zverev who is 0-12 against top 10 players in a slam

Probably. But then again, Zverev can stretch these top guys to 5 rigorous sets and take a lot of juice out of them. Similar to what he did to Djokovic at USO last year.

There is big difference between HC and clay. The slow paced grinding rallies won't help zverev against a fit Nadal

Fit Nadal? Maybe
Bad foot Nadal? Probably don't wanna be playing Zverev. Clay or not.
Actually many may pick Nadal to bulldoze through Tsitsipas bh. But last time they played on clay nadal has to save MPs.

Last time when they met in a slam it was tsitsipas who stunned him in an epic comeback. So Tsitsipas has to exprience of beating the top guys in slams and zverev is yet to beat them despite so much hype and expectation

With roof closed, Tsitsipas has better chances against Nadal at RG.
Open roof with hot sun and bouncy conditions, Nadal will handle him if his foot is good.

Tsitsipas obviously

Nadal would pummel the Tsitsipas backhand with ease with both serve and forehand. It would be a massacre. At least Zverev has the second best backhand in the game.
