Why did the Becker-Nole partnership end?

Always been curious why Nole let go of Boris who not only helped him turn his career around and help him regain his self-belief but also seemed to really care for him one on one as a human being. I get Pepe and whatnot but why didn't he go back to him after that phase?

Should they get back together? Is there anything Boris can bring to the table for Nole right now?

nole is pretty much the favorite everywhere barring red clay if rafas there...
i don't think theres any reason to change anything? I think all Boris can do is stir the pot trying to get in his rivals heads with a few quotes but it looks like noles dad is doing that for now

I think Boris became a bit too indiscreet for Novak's liking. He was always shooting his mouth off to all sorts of people about all sorts of stuff to do with Novak often touching on his private life. It probably became a bit too much and, so.....bye bye Boris.

I forgot about this. I remember him being somewhat fiesty to the tennis media about the perceptions of Nole, not giving him enough credit and so on but don't remember him specifically stepping over a line.

Becker was mostly for confidence, it's Marian Vajida that took him to this level.
Interesting. Obv. he got to his epic 2011 with Vajida, but you don't think Becker added anything to his game strategically? Just mentally? Which btw is every bit as important as strategy, if not moreso lol

Novak did not want to share any credit with Boris; Boris wanted some credit and limelight.

I don’t remember well who came first: The Boris or The Pepe?
I believe the one who came later among them, removed he other.

Yeah, he gave him his mental confidence back and definitely improved his serve and volleying. But I think Novak might have hired him mostly for mental strength as he had lost a lot of finals which he could've won.

Boris was first. Pepe second. Crucially, it was Boris who turned Nole around and got him back to his Champion's ways.
I remember now. Pepe blew everything, so then Vajda returned.
I believe the only after-effects of the Pepe‘s Syndrome suffered by Djokovic were the boob throws.

But why not bring Boris back too? They were such a great team. :(

Boris mentioned it in his documentary on netflix.. it was a little vague but what I took was Boris left because Novak was losing his focus, which affected his results, and possibly because of Pepe (I don't think he mentioned his name).

My guess is: Becker is the domineering type, pushing Vajda to the side. Vajda was never there at the last few Slams Becker was coach. But Vajda was more than business to Djokovic; he's mentor, and more like family.

When Djokovic knew he no longer need Becker, he opted for family, so to give Vajda his due! If Becker was better at human relations, he should've known!

As I recall from his statement Becker left because he thought Novak didn’t give a **** anymore.

Pepe pushed out all the tennis people--with the backing of Nole's wife and his brother.
Exactly.

Pepe did it.

He took over.

And Djoker as usual let Pepe run the show... which is understandable (he paid him so he had to let the new guy do his thing for a while at least).

Interesting. I wondered if Agassi was brought onboard partially due to the Quest for Enlightenment...the difference is Andre is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Why do you think Nolassi failed? Andre has given his perspective publicly but I wonder why Nole himself pushed Andre away

Djokovic is a searcher.
He is the one of the big 3 that requires outside motivation and teaching the most.
Boris phase ended.
He was searching for the "new" for the next phase of his career.

Andres timing wasn't the best. He came in a time where Djokos elbow was in bad condition and Agassi himself has said that after he saw the MRI scans on his elbow he told Djokovic to do the surgery right away but Djokovic didn't agree and wanted it to heal naturally. Obviously it didn't work out that way as his break didn't help and in the end he did the surgery after AO 18 loss.

Agassi also said that they agreed to disagreed way too often and that was why they parted ways. Djokovic wasn't a fan of his ideas on nutrition and strength training. He wanted Djokovic to bulk up. I guess it just didn't work. It was a bad combo from the start.

Yes. Andre is way too american and Nole is decidedly not in his thinking.

That just might be true. I only recently found out Jelena left on a "spiritual journey" to Ecuador in the middle of Wimbledon 2016.

No way Andre would travel with any player. That was the biggest obstacle. It seemed like their short time together helped Novak tho. He always speaks highly of that time with Andre.
