Overall the men are making 58% more than the women. 58%!!!!Which seems fair since the ATP tour events are no doubt higher quality than the women's. But what's all this crap about equal prize money then? Doesn't exist.
Equal prize money at the slams is different. The slams are a joint event and the absence of either gender or carrying on this event as two separate events by gender (which would never ever happen) would damage the prestige of the event. The slams are what they are because of both genders participating. I think it is arguable that women should make equal money in this case. It is also a symbolic gesture that I think is very progressive so kudos to the tennis world for being forward thinking.
You will note that the ATP winnings are concentrated with the Top 4. That is because the remainder of the Top 10, including our buddy Tipsy, are incapable of winning any Masters series events or slams. Because they are WEAK. Whiners like Tipsy and Simon should try winning more Master's events instead of sitting around b!tching about the women. The men have a considerably bigger pie, its their own fault they can't get a bigger piece.
