Neither is Kate Middleton a tennis fan.
They gave the job to her cuz Wimbledon has status and they wanted to raise Kate's public profile. She is technically not the right fit as handing over the trophy had been a lifetime post. But in her case I suspect she will not hand over the trophy annually once her husband becomes king — then it will suddenly become "beneath her" to do this.

Both djo and raz bowed to kate as they approached for their respective trophies. This is beyond silly, they are way more accomplished than her if anything. Shouldn't respect be earned than received due to some title the person married into? Anyways the whole thing makes no sense, dunno how she doesn't feel embarrassed there.

there are plenty of nice caring compassionate individuals out in the world, do they get to be center stage with others bowing to them? and accompanied by cloying praise from official media for their mere presence!!

Just to to clear. I don't dislike the royals. PR move or not, Kate tries to mingle with commoners, ball girls etc. make them feel better, i appreciate that.
I thought as per tradition or logic, the dutches or princess awards the womens champion and the duke or prince awards the mens champion.

I would say they bowed her because she represents royal majesty. Djoker has been doing this for several years and Alcaraz has a monarchy in his country so he has an understanding of royal majesty.

No, she is a genuine tennis fan which is why she took over the patronage of the tournament. They wouldn't have done that if she wasn't interested. Not too sure about her husband but, as I say, he likes to support her.
