So far:
watching players practice in the park the weekend before the main draw despite the USTA not inviting anyone.
not insanely oversold like first week in 2019.
some decent secondary market prices on good seats even accounting for the outrageous service fees.
a total of zero Covidiots on-site.
lines to get in are moving fast this year despite the misleading nonsense I read online.
only two field court “security people“
made ridiculous requests of me.
no low water pressure fountains discovered yet.
water bottle people are not using the regular fountains to fill up.
no booths behind ct 8 to ct 16 this year (another Covid bonus) has meant no buildup of people crowding the walkway from GS to Ct. 17.
the extremely rude Japanese photographer that pretends he doesn’t understand English and routinely likes to shove his way in front of fans apparently couldn’t get a visa this year.
Mount Sinai giving away free sunblock if you forgot to bring.
the “who’s the best“ fan has mellowed and is not driving people crazy with his repetitive chant. And the loud Berrettini fan/restaurant owner/stalker seems to be absent.
no service line judges to block your view if you sit close.
a woman selling “Pat LaFreida’s World’s Best Hot Dog“ for $9.50 admitted it probably wasn’t the worlds best hot dog.
got to see a lot of tennis fans I haven’t seen in two years.
Eggslam is still live.
