Why doesn't Jason Goodall work for Tennis TV anymore?

Break To Win

Semi-Pro
I think he is one of the best commentators. He's discreet, he doesn't make stupid comments like Robbie Koenig does very often.

I find his observations pertinent, and he is very clever when he needs to use emotion in his observations.

It is interesting to know that he is from Yorkshire, where his natives have a peculiar accent.

Certainly, he trained a lot to use a more neutral accent, closer to RP.

I remember back when I was in school he and Koenig always commentated during Masters'. The good ol days.

I don't agree Koenig says stupid things though - his metaphors and hyperboles are usually pretty creative and strangely apt, and he serves quite well as a hype caster as a foil to Goodall's calmness. Better than most American commentators who only rely on their limited vocab of "Hello?", "Come on!" to hype themselves up. Also, I like how the pair never badmouths or attempts to psychoanalyse the players like some do.

I haven't heard Jason on Tennis TV during the AO, but he was commentating on Tennis TV during the Rune-Duckworth match in Brisbane. He moves around.

Best duo for me, besides the old McMillan/Mercer combo back years ago.

Except for the fact that he talks during points much of the time, which includes in between first and second serves. To me he's one of the most annoying commentators in the sport.
