If Woz could have hit a sharp cross court forehand properly she would have won in two sets. Agassi would rarely have lost to Sampras if he had ever been able to hit a sharply angled forehand as well. Its my best shot, it pains me to see pros at this level had problems executing it.

Woz won because she faced Halep. A one dimensional player who hits cross court too much. If Woz would played Kerber in the final, I think she would have lost because Kerber is as smart Woz. Halep doesn't have any smarts, she just likes to hit hard into the open court. That strategy works most of the time, which explains her #1 ranking and now #2.

Yet Kerber couldn't get past Halep. Interesting things, matchups!
