Wilson 97S question

Did Michelle get to hit with the new 97S?
Interested in her comparison with the RF97 :)
It's a bit of dejavu with the RF97...we only have one hitter and it's been hard to get my hands on it!

With that being said, I've only hit with it about two or three times (once unmodified) and want more time with it! It's hefty for sure, which I like. Chris added some tailweight after the playtest and I got to hit with it for a bit and I really enjoyed it.

It has a more flexible feel compared to the RF97 and you can generate more of your own pace. As far as being a "spin effect" racquet, it works much better with my flatter game than all the other "S" racquets have, I don't feel like the ball launches off the stringbed.

So far, I like that it controls some of my power. I don't know if I generate as heavy of a ball though.

Definitely want to hit with it more though (I think I have to pry it out of Troy's hands though!) ;)

Hope that helps a bit,

Michelle, TW

Thanks Michelle, appreciated. Couple more weeks before TWE get them so will hopefully see the Dr 98 review in the meantime. Will probably get both!

Hi Playtesters. I noted the Review was filmed with 4GS (at 50lbs I believe). I have a spare set of Volkl Cyclone 18 that I was going to try in this. Do you think that would work? I'm not a string breaker.
If so, what tension would you put it at (vs. 4GS at 50lbs)?

Dgdavid,

Go ahead and give it try. Cyclone is one of our playtesters favorite strings . I would say 52 lbs would be a good tension to try.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

To get a similar response, try stringing your 18 gauge Cyclone at 53 lbs and see what you think.

Two TW Playtesters responding together in one reply - that's gotta be a TW first!
Mixed doubles at it's very finest right here on the forum! :);)
