Morning all

I have a Wilson BLX Pro Staff Six.One 90 on it's way as I felt like trying something different to my Extremes for fun! Any string recommendations?

Thanks.

Not quite the right forum, but my favorite setup in my Prostaff 90 is good old gut/ALU Power Ice at around 55/48

But if you want something less expensive then it'll play well with a variety of low tension polys or even some quality multis... A little difficult to give complete advice not knowing your usual string setup.

Thanks. Yes, wrong forum, early start and not thinking!

I currently use Polyfibre Hightec Premium @ 55 lbs in my Extreme's. A nice soft poly, but I have no experience with the Pro Staff so not sure what I can get away with.

Good stuff, and it sounds like you have your preferences figured out so hats off. The PS90 is a very lively frame even if it's control oriented due to the small head and flexibility, so you can't go wrong with a poly.

I'll even say - try the same string setup you have now. Saying this for two reasons:

1. That way your comparison is completely racquet to racquet
2. At least to me, soft polys/ stiff polys at low tension gel awesomely with the PS90

After you've tried your own setup, report how it played and work from there

And most importantly enjoy it, this racquet is a treat!

In my PS90s I do 1.30mm natural gut at 49 lbs with a prestretch in the mains and 1.25mm Wilson Revolve at 46 lbs in the crosses. I love the blend of power, spin, and control I get from that stringbed. With my strokes and exclusively used on hard courts, I can get 20-25 hours of play time before the gut snaps.

I hit flat and I rarely experiment with strings, but I've been happy using NXT 16 at 45 lbs (50 on my drop weight).

I have been considering trying a pack of Duo Power (NXT Power mains and ALU Power crosses) but it'll probably be next spring by the time I need a restring.

how's the racquet performing for you after the honeymoon period? I am thinking of getting one for fun (it will probably be too much for me) as I love the 95 version

I won’t lie, I’ve gone back to the Extremes. Fun to play around with but just too different to what I’m used to.

It’s one of if not the easiest swinging of all the PS90s and it’s not string sensitive. I’ve been playing it with full round poly with good results, can only be better with gut/poly. Ideal stick for fun hitting if mids are your thing.
