For you racquet gurus....

I demo'd the Wilson BLX Six.One 95 16x18 off tennis warehouse. It has the following specs:
Head Size:
95 sq. in. / 612.9 sq. cm.
Length: 27 inches / 68.58 cm
Strung Weight: 12.23oz / 346.71g
Balance: 8 pts HL
Swingweight: 338
Stiffness: 67
Beam Width: 22mm/22mm/22mm/

The racquet that came in is a BLX Six.ONE 95 16x18 but the on the racquet it says....
95 sq. in. / 612.9 sq. cm.
Length: 27 inches / 68.58 cm
Weight: 11.7 oz/ 332g
Balance: 12 pts HL
WRT70030D4

I can see where weight difference could be strung vs unstrung, will this effect the balance this much? 9 points to 12 points...

I don't even see a BLX 16x18 racqet on their website that is 12 points head light.
Can somebody tell me what I'm missing?

15g of string in the hoop would easily result in a 12 to 8 points HL change.

It wont say 12 HL on their website because they measure balance based on a strung racquet.

thanks,
I didn't realize strings would effect the balance that much that much... I liked the racquet, I just wanted to make sure which one I was playing with.

what did you think of the racquet? i'm getting an 18x20 version.

It felt pretty good, to be honest I'm not experienced enough to talk about it. I've been playing with a head mojo for a couple of years. I've started hitting against faster paced players and I just wanted a little heavier racquet with less power to handle the pace.

the first set of specs u got off tennis warehouse are the specs for the racquet when it's STRUNG

the specs on the racquet itself are the UNSTRUNG specs. you notice the weight stated on the racquet is only 332 while the one on TW is 346. so you add about 10-20g for strings a dampener and OG you get about 346+-.

you probably gotta take into account the QC of Wilson for the difference in strung specs as well.
