Wilson Grand Slam Balls

Just ordered a case of these to try. I think the standard Wilson ball is far better than the standard Penn. I assumed these slightly cheaper line of balls would be more akin to a Penn ball.

Unfortunately that was not the case. These Wilson Grand Slam balls are far worse than anything I’ve ever played before and should not be used by any player beyond a casual weekend warrior.

The felt, if you can even call it that, is so thin. It feels more like a cheap thin carpet material than any felt I’ve ever seen.

The ball bounces with a gross thud noise. Side by side to a standard Wilson you can pick it out instantly.

Absolutely flys off the racquet.

Lastly, there is the largest visible line running through the equator of the ball which must surely produce irregular bounces.

I will say they felt decently pressurized, but that’s the only thing they had going for them.

if on a budget go with regular penns over these things. I wouldn’t pick them over anything else. The price savings isn’t worth it.

Ball on top is a grand slam after being hit maybe 10 rallies. Bottom ball is standard Wilson extra duty after about 45 minutes of hitting.
The line in the top ball is nasty.

It just look cheaper.
Amazing they can make a ball worse then Penn Championships.
What is even sadder that they sell.

I'm fine playing with the standard Wilson or Dunlop balls.
For Penn is has to be Protour or Marathons.
