Wilson Jack Kramer ProStaff woodie

Does anyone know the stringing pattern and recommended tension for this woodie? Also, which cheap budget string has synergy with this racquet? Thanks!

You can string it that way (skip 9 at the throat and share 7,8 and 10 at the throat and no skip at the head and share 7,8 and 9) or you can skip nothing and share 7,8 and 9 top and bottom. I have JK Woods that are strung both ways.

I strung my JK with Alpha Gut 2000 17g @ 62lbs. The stringbed feels great for the first 2 hours of hitting and then it feels dead thereafter. Is it normal with this string or the tension is too high?

I personally would not string a 30+ year woody much above 55 lbs since your really risking frame damage (warpage). Also, natural gut is the best way to go or I also don't mind a copoly at no more than 45 lbs.

I agree here. The wood is not as flexible as before, it will crack if not carefull, I string mine arround 30lbs, with a multi, the cheaper the better..
I would not waste good nat.gut on a wood raket.. ask yourself, how many times are you going to hit with it,,,,, this year...
I hit with mine once a year on a tennis social, and then they go back into the closet until the next year...

P Pads on wood rackets...
Stringers used them instead of burning the holes with a scrap piece of string, since wood can be abrasive if not worn, and hand burning 4 holes takes a bit of time.
P Pads are not great for maintaining tension, but most who want it installed add another lbs of tension for it.

I never added a pound of tension with power pads! Tension was the same with or without.
