Does anyone know the stringing pattern and recommended tension for this woodie? Also, which cheap budget string has synergy with this racquet? Thanks!
They make for a smoother turn for the strings.

I strung my JK with Alpha Gut 2000 17g @ 62lbs. The stringbed feels great for the first 2 hours of hitting and then it feels dead thereafter. Is it normal with this string or the tension is too high?
I never noticed when I played wood back in the early 1970s. They protected gut from early breakage.Do they make any difference in terms of playability?

I personally would not string a 30+ year woody much above 55 lbs since your really risking frame damage (warpage). .
I never added a pound of tension with power pads! Tension was the same with or without.P Pads on wood rackets...
Stringers used them instead of burning the holes with a scrap piece of string, since wood can be abrasive if not worn, and hand burning 4 holes takes a bit of time.
P Pads are not great for maintaining tension, but most who want it installed add another lbs of tension for it.
