Wilson Trance-poor support?

I got these shoes last year strictly for clay. I only play on clay maybe 8 times a year or so, but it seems recently I've been playing more. Last night, I was playing a 3-setter, I served and my achilles tightened up, almost like it was cramping up. I instantly stretched it with my foot rocker that I have for PF, but put my T22's on that I normally wear on hardcourt. I could definitely tell a significant difference in traction, so I would like to stick with the Trance's for that reason. But I am just afraid of the ankle support or even worse, injuring my achilles. I've noticed some other Wilsons with the full herringbone outsole, but I'm afraid to try one and have it turn out to be the same thing. Any one else experience this before with these shoes? Any recommendations? These are the ones I use.

I have tour phantom (probably same type of shoe as yours) and they have higher heel than for example Nike Vapors. Higher heel should "pull" achilles less, I now wear them for casual hitting, as they are comfortable for me.
