WoW- PolyStar Turbo- best spin poly!

I just played with the new PolyStar Turbo and the spin created by this string is just insane in the membrane. It's the same string as PolyStar Energy but has a ribbed 5 star surface to enhance spin. It puts ALU Rough to shame.

I tried it also. Well, not exactly me, but I string for a top Jr. girl, and a college player. YES, this string is really something, and much better than Pro Hurricane Tour.

NO, just 5 reels per year. You can be sponsored too if you were young and as good as me, but it's probably too late for you.

Why be like that?

Some of us on here manage to be sponsored without going around talking **** all day.

We know you like polystar...its like me saying PRO SUPEX ARE THE BEST STRINGS IN THE WORLD or BUY A VANTAGE RACKE THEY ARE AMAZING.

I started using Polystar Energy recently and really like it. Nice pop, fairly comfortable. The hybrid with Turbo sounds worth a try.

Because, HappyAndFriendlyAlways's tone was sarcastic and indeed not friendly. I am indeed, sponsored by PolyStar which he doubts. He can confirm it with PolyStar Germany should he desire the truth.

i think he was actually pointing out that you are more likely to love poly star BECAUSE you are sponsored, and have the logo as your avatar, etc.

you went on the offensive, first.

We agree to respectfully disagree on the nature of his comments. I am a nationally ranked tournament junior. I can play with whatever string I want that I believe will give me a performance advantage. I choose to play with PolyStar Energy because I believe it's the best playing string for me. In the past I have been sponsored by Signum Pro Poly Plasma and then Prince Natural Gut but I like PolyStar Energy better. I continue to try new strings all the time but have chosen to stay with Energy. Pro Supex is an easy sponsorship to get for a tournament junior. I have played with Big Ace and Blue Gear, nice strings (I like Blue Gear better) but IMO they do not come close to the playing performance of PolyStar Energy.

Have you tried Lux BBO?

The OP sounds rather biased. I guess I'll be avoiding Polystar from now on. (Not hard to do.)

I've tried the Lux strings. TiMo has the best spin and control but is the most harsh. BBO plays muted and is harsh. IMO, ALU is their best string and more comfortable although it is still harsh. It gave me shoulder problems after playing with it for 6 months at 53 lbs. Everyone on this board is biased, it's called opinion.

The OP is the son of the US distributor for Polystar. His posts should be read with this in mind.
What an unimaginable coincidence. I'm certain this relationship did nothing to influence his unbiased "opinion."

Some are biased by experience, others are biased by greed. Bias is not opinion.

Like I said, I shall be avoiding Polystar. Just "my opinion."

Disclosing his relationship upfront is the way to go - he's done that and should be congratulated.

How does it compare to pro Hurr tour ??? and how long does this poly play before it goes dead ? 6-8 hours ?

I'm not sponsored or anything but if one is looking for a very good, cheap string, Polystar wont dissapoint, a lot of string for a small price!

I find that Pro Hurr Tour is firmer and has no feel. PolyStar is more comfortable and has more pop. I get a weeks play out of PolyStar, so 2 hours per day, 5 days, about 10 hours. I carry 7 racquets in my bag for away tournaments. BTW, most of the naysayers have never played with it. Like all polys, it will snap if you miss hit in the upper loop which I do from time to time.

So, because he is sponsorship by the brand and his fathers owns the distribution he cant have an opinion on the string :-? ?? or maybe the string isnt as good as he say? :-? ?? or we shuould attack him because he says good things about the string (that are actually thruth) :-? pls.

Yeah, give the kid a break, he obviously likes the string or he wouldn't play national tournaments with it. You would play to win wouldn't you? I recently tried the Polystar Turbo and it's a nice string, nice spin and power. The three spin enhancing polys I've played with and like are Blue Gear, Poly Hextreme and Polystar Turbo.

From the sound of what you say, this is much better string than PHT. More Feel More pop and what about the spin ?? do you think it can produce more spin that PHT ?

The Turbo has definitely more spin, it really bites into the ball. I just played with Turbo in the mains crossed with Energy in the crosses and it played extremely well. The spin was enhanced and my ball was heavier and more torquey and jumped off the court on the bounce. I'm switching to this hybrid from all PolyStar Energy. My kick serve was dirty, the action was nasty. By crossing with Energy, you avoid having the Turbo cut into itself. The spin off Energy is the same as PHT. They both create less spin than ALU but are more comfortable. Duso (up above) opined that PolyStar Turbo "is really something, and much better than Pro Hurricane Tour." You really have to try it yourself, to each his own.

Just got a set of this and strung it up yesterday.

Really found it very average....spin was average compared to ALU Power, Big Banger Original and Pro Supex Blue Gear. Felt a bit cheap....

^^^Cheap ?? That doesn't sound very flattering......this means it probably isn't any better than the PHT. ?

You owe it to yourself to try a set and forget the naysayers, it's only $8 a set. Google Polystar Turbo. See for yourself.

Has anyone that has used Energy or Turbo comment on their stiffness? How does it compare to CyberFlash or Blue Gear?

wondertoy...what is the requirments for a sponsorship with polystar, what email did u use to?

I was top 35 in the USTA National Rankings when I got the PolyStar sponsorship. I would imagine that you need to be top 100 nationally.

^^^thanks!!!are there ne sectional requirments?

ne: new england? I'm not sure about the new england section, enter them and see if you get in. I am not in that section. Just try to play the highest degsinated tournaments in your section, they have the most national points. Then try to use those points to get into the USTA Level 2 National Opens. After some wins, you can qualify for the highest ranking Supernationals where all the action is. Good luck.

Top 35, That is pretty good. Are you getting a scholarship to division 1 college somewhere ? or are you turning Pro ?

IMO, Pro Supex Blue Gear is currently the best spin polyester string on the market.. great string offered at a price much cheaper than Polystar

Yes, Blue Gear is better than Polystar. I've never felt the need to go with a powerful string. Perhaps if I was still very young and didn't have any strength, but I prefer to generate my own pace.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say, I got a few sets and I'm a bit disappointed with it, I mean, don't get me wrong, it's alright I suppose, but definitely nothing special. Oh, and about spin, it's certainly no spin monster compared to ALU Power, BBO, and Blue Gear.

There are a lot of levels in this sport. I'm going to college, playing D1 next fall. I need some more years to develop my game, then who knows? One thing's for sure, you can't move up a level until you exhaust the competition at your current level. Or as Master Po said, "grasp this pebble from my hand, when you can then it is time for you to leave."
