Wrist agonies

Ive been playing for about 5 years now without any major problems. A few years back I developed really really bad tennis elbow on my right hand but that seemed to go away after about 6 months. Last year I noticed I would have pain in my right wrist while warming up, it would hurt bad for about 15 minutes but as I warmed up it would gradually go away. This year when I started playing again in the summer I have the same pain but it does not go away, and the pain is worse. Every time I hit a forehand or a serve it feels like I am pinching a nerve in my wrist. My wrist feels fine when I hit a backhand. Its gotten to the point where I just cant play anymore because it hurts everytime the ball makes contact with my racquet. It hurts on the bottom right side of my right wrist. Resting has not helped because I just recently started playing after like a 4 month layoff. Any suggestions and if anyone has had the same problem how did you treat it?

Will switching racquets really help that much?

Have you read:

?

Very possibly it would help.

But you have to attack all the factors: your technique (wristy?), racquet, strings (no harsh polys, use multis), tension (use lower half of the range), or your will get into something which I guarantee you won't like at all (months of not being able to play).

Ya ive read all those articles. I was just wondering what people that have had the same problem have done and what helped and what didnt.

Well, the latest link, the article written by the doctors at the French Federation has clear recommendations at the end. I would assume they have more experience than anyone on this board, thus it's up to you to be receptive or not.

My experience with Futures level players fully confirms it.
