YA (yet another) Rotator Cuff injury question (quick one though)

Quick question:

I've started doing some exercises with surgical tubing to alleviate my Rotator Cuff issues and so they've helped. I try to do them daily weather I play or not.

My question is this: Should I also stretch before and after doing these exercises or are the exercises enough to prevent injury and strengthen the Rotator Cuff??

Also, after playing, what's best, to do another series of exercises with the tubing or simply to stretch??

Thanks

Its hard to say without knowing exactly what the excercises are for but i expect you have been given a rotator cuff strengthening programme along with some that improve the posture of your shoulder (standard tennis mix).

Do you have a physio becuase it would really be better to ask them? When I was doing rotator cuff strenthening the physio said i could do them same day as tennis if i wanted but i shouldn't do too many...

Static stretching of any muscles before play will probably do more harm than good. Go to the USTA website and get a dynamic warm up to do before playing.

Static stretches should be used after playing and in time that isn't related to tennis.
