Yonex DR 98 vs ProKennex Pro 7G

Aside from the obvious differences in specs wanted someone's opinion about how these racquets compare performance wise from someone who's hit both like the TW staff. I just got my PK from TW and love it. Considering another as back up or a DR 98. Thx. Ken

They are both very comfortable racquets.
If you like PK I would stay with it.
For me it does almost everything better than DR.
More power, more control. Groundstrokes are much better, especially the two handed backhand. There is more power and control.
I find DR98 a bit disconnected. All the flex is in the throat.
DR has a higher launch angle and It serves better.
What really bugs me about the DR is the thick beam in the hoop. It makes slice backhands that much more difficult.
I like to play with variety of racquets. PK7g is the one that I have best results with. (I just wish it had the PT280 feel, and bombed serves like Gamma Tour 340x, that would make it the holly grail)
Hope this helps.

Yep thx very much. Intrigued by the DR as it gets such good reviews. Hit my PK today and best racquet I have by far especially for backhands. Forehands with great spin and control as well as power. Hard to argue with the results. Ken

I am experimenting with extended rackets now and I am curious about these two rackets too.
Currently I am testing old donnay x-white which I have not used for years but surprisingly, I like the racket. Unfortunately stiffness (70) is a little high for me.
I was searching for flexible extended rackets and seems like Ki 5x and DR98 plus might be good fit . Unfortunately ki 5x is sold out at TW so looks like best alternative might be 7G but still concern about stiffness of 66.
I tried AI/DR lines several times but never clicked with those so I am not sure extended version might be better for me or not.

I strung my PK with Yonex 850 pro multi at 60. Didn't feel stiff. Very controllable and ample power. Ken

You left off the key word Comfortable :) . I play with matched 7Gs and their feel to me is much better than the KI editions.

Yep I did. My error! Ordering another 7g tomorrow. Hit with it last night again and was "wowed" by its performance. Gonna have to update my avatar!
