Yonex Ezone 98 2022 switch to Yonex Percept 100D > 100 > 97

Hi,
I wanted to ask You guys, what will I gain/lose in terms of playability if I switch from Yonex Ezone 98 2022 to Yonex Percept 100D or maybe Percept 100/97?

I am interested in the Percept 100D as a main possible choice, because it has the most similar specification to Ezone 98 2022.

I would prefer good overall/allcourt playability (just like Ezone 98 2022) with more control and minimum loss of power.

Have you played around with your string / tension setups already? I would do that before going through the rabbit hole of different rackets.

If you generally like the Ezone and want more control, you could try stiffer strings or higher tension (if your arm is healthy).

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, I tried some strings / different tensions and settled on Yonex Poly Tour Rev 1,20 mm at 21 kg. I like this setup a lot and do not want to mess around any more, so that is not a problem.

I just like to try new racquets from time to time, but I am a Yonex fan so I do not have a lot of new sticks test. I do not like Vcores. Have been using Yonex DR 98, Ezone 100 2020, Ezone Tour 98 2022 and now Ezone 98 2022, so I am very familiar with Ezone line.

I tried the last Vcore Pro 100, but it was too soft and wild for me.

The newly named line - Percept, especially 100D and 100, are stiffer, so the idea of trying it came to my mind. That is why I posted my question.

Don't rule out 97d. It is quite easy to swing. Don't let weight put u off. What you gain is plough, control&volleying . Plus it is solid in hoop so it goes through ball. Ezone is flimsy in hoop. I got more power with ezone but u don't get the control.
97d i felt was better in every shot as it's aim was predictable . U get a descent shot from anywhere on stringbed. I felt yonex' before were abit too flimsy in hoop. 97d is not though.

I love these racquets on everything but serve. Wish I could serve with them or I would switch.
Yes serve seemed possible though. I only played with it today. U need to get ur body into it with heavy 97d racket . I am not great at smash or serve. But potential & accurscy was there it just gonna take a little while 2 work it out . What parts of body 2 combine control serve. U can't arm it in.Mayb accuracy more than power. Mayb just place it in corners of box more than go for real power . I think u can use corner points at side of the top flat silly shape on yonex racket as some sort of a guide 2 serve also.

For what it’s worth my kid has a whippy forehand and uses hyper g soft 16l mains 52lbs and 17g crosses 52lbs in his Ezone 98 it’s amazing.

P97 has the most similar spec to ez98, in fact it was identical to mine when I measured them. Different hitting experience due to the flex. I did not like p97, too mushy on contact. 100d better but felt clunkier and not as precise as EZ98.

100% agree with your statement. P97 is too mushy on contact. The VCORE Pro 97 has a much better feel.

Are you two talking about standard p97 or p97d?

I'm curious about the D cause it's a bit stiffer then the regular 97.

Also quite curious about the percept 100D
