Yonex Vcore 97 310 comparison

Hi TW Staff, in particular Chris,

I'm interested in getting a comparison between the 3 versions of the Vcore 97 310g - the original (red) vs. Tour G (orange) vs Duel G (black/red).

If you can compare between the three on feel, control, power, stability and spin access, that would be great.

Thanks,

vc

The original red version was a great racquet. Great control, enough power for me and solid access to spin. The Tour G 310 swung with a lot more mass. It almost felt like there was something going on with the yoke design which made the racquet slower to come around. I actually liked that sense of mass from a lighter racquet, but I know others here struggled with the maneuverability of that one. I'm a huge fan of the new Duel G. It's been a long time since I hit the original, but if memory serves me correctly I think I'm getting a little more feel and touch from the Duel G. Both are great racquets and it would be tough to choose between the two -- and I'd go with either of those over the Tour G. I might get a little more court penetration from the Tour G, but the difference isn't huge while I can change the direction of play a little better with the Duel G (or original). I'd also say these two offer better access to spin over the Tour G since they have a whippier feel for easier access to racquet head speed.

If you like to hit a big penetrating ball from the baseline or want some added mass for serve and volley, then I'd suggest the Tour G. If you like to play more of an all court game and hit with spin, then the other two. If grommet availability as well as replacement racquets etc is important then the Duel G becomes the obvious choice since it is the newest model. In other words, if you are looking for a lasting racquet relationship then the newer Duel G will have longest availability for parts and replacements. If you are just looking to speed date these racquets or play the Tour 97 field, get one of each! :)

Happy hitting,
Chris, TW.
