A good chunk of people also wouldn't have believed it. Tiger had a nearly shatterproof facade for all of his career, until that car crash. When someone is kept that tightly under wraps and also remains that successful in their career, they are impervious to criticisms and tell-alls. Think of it like a rotten egg - it's fine as long as the shell stays intact. Once that first crack appears, though, you can't stop the smell or the rotten ooze from flowing out.

I don't understand how a car crash is a catalyst for exposing adultery. I got a seat belt violation, once. I don't remember everyone coming out against me for the couple times I drove after a few drinks, with no DUI charge.

If Tiger had just won the Masters, and some women came out and said Tiger and her had affair everytime he showed up in Georgia (or even some other venue), I might believe it. You could argue, people felt the cat was out of the bag with Elin after the crash (fight...whatever), and it wouldn't be dropping a bomb on his marriage. Then, why would they give supposed sexual details? Does the wife need to hear this? Hard for me to believe. Up there with weapons of mass destruction.
