Zverev v Medvedev

I am desperate for Zverev to win. Really like the guy, after GOATDAL then Delpo then Thiem he is probably my 4th fav player. Love his attitude on and off court. (Except a 69 mph serve at MP in a slam final).
I feel he is the best indoor player out there after Federer and Djokovic. I rate him 3 levels higher than the overrated Medvedev and i sincerely hope he gives Medvedev a schooling and i think he may well do.

Agree. Seems this court is again playing slightly faster than most. On a medium paced indoor court, Sasha should give Medvedev a complete pasting.

I really want Medvedev to win. It’s about time for another ABZ victory. Also, Med could use a lift here after his lackluster 2020 season up to now.

I would say it’s because of the allegations against Zverev as well, but I must resign myself to the fact that they still haven’t been 100% proven.

But I think Zverev will win this, unfortunately.

I don't have a preference. They both have very similar style games (backboards, but more interesting than Murray).
Zed leads 5-1 h2h so he's got the odds.

It will be annoying if Zverev will suddenly start hitting double faults and unforced errors again. He really brings his best specifically against Nadal. His best slam match is still AO 2017 third round.

100%?

They haven't been proven even 10%. You are way too trusting of young angry accusers... These millennials, can't trust them.

Why is everyone suddenly a Zverfan?

Since when?
How can anybody dislike king Zedzilla?

Hoping for Zverev to win, but tennis wins either way. Djokobic wasn’t even there and Mr Charisma is out.

Zverev handles Medvedev COMFORTABLY . The h2h is comical.
Unless Zed craps up, Medvedev will likely lose.
Unfortunately for the Russian the 2019 season increasingly looks like a flash in the pan - and won't be repeated.

I would make Zverev and Novak the favorite for the WTF as well.

Perhaps there is a way for them to both become disqualified from the finals? Is they simultaneously throw bananas at the umpire?

Then the organisers could give the title to some other player who can play a less servebotting and more eye-pleasing tennis. I suggest Wawrinka!

I like this idea!

Medvedev whooped Zverev the last time they played but that match was abysmal for Zverev so as long as he continues to play as he has been this week I think it'll at least be close.

Most of his wins are before 2019 when Dannyboy started peaking

My prediction is Zverev in 2 or 3 possibly.
The 5-1 H2H speaks for itself, Med simply doesn't have the weapons to consistently hit through Zverev.

I want Medvedev to win like his gamestyle more than zverev and all his personality is more interesting than zverev to follow on a tennis court

Strictly speaking tennis (because who the hell am I to assume the allegations are true at this moment) I prefer Zverev to Medvedev. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Medvedev has one purpose to me and that's to trouble Djokovic. Other than that, I don't find his game very pleasant and struggle to enjoy his matches. Occasionally I can get into a Medvedev match. Not too often though. Plus, I feel like Zverev has that little extra that Medvedev will probably never have to truly challenge Djokodal. Right now is a good time to keep the momentum going headed into the WTF too with recent success in his home country. Medvedev seems to be more of a sentimental fav around here which I get. I do. He's not the answer to ending the Djokodal stranglehold though imo which is what matters the most for all younger players in order to ever be taken seriously in the future. Beat the big boys if you want my respect.

Hoping for a Zverev win but I will be glad if Medvedev wins too. Still hasn't won 1 title this, after everything he accomplished last year he should fix that now.
If Zverev hits the ball like in Koln final against Schwartzman and serves like in the first set against Nadal, Medvedev has basically 1% of chance, though... jmo
