Isn't Murray the defending champion? Is it worth dropping 1000 points to have a leg up for Olympic?Nope. I misread it. Wasn't a Delgado tweet. It's a tweet from a reporter - Stu Fraser, retweeted by Simon Cambers, another reporter.

I thought he might care about chasing the #1 ranking.Murray proudly supports Davis Cup; seems to really get up for representing the GBR.
And isn't his hold on #2 pretty wide?
Good luck with that! How many times can he hope Sam Querrey will be in Novak's section?I thought he might care about chasing the #1 ranking.
But he's so close in the race. It may be his only opportunity.Good luck with that! How many times can he hope Sam Querrey will be in Novak's section?
Difference between Novak and him in the race is 815 points. It's not mission impossible for Murray.Good luck with that! How many times can he hope Sam Querrey will be in Novak's section?

Hope he knows that Rio is played on hard courts...
Interesting. Didn't know it was that close.Difference between Novak and him in the race is 815 points. It's not mission impossible for Murray.
He has never held it before, so I think it may be more important to him than to other Big 4 members.Interesting. Didn't know it was that close.
But maybe TW posters think more about weeks at #1 than some pros....
What? Nadal opened an academy filled with... hard courts? In Spain? That's insane. If true he'll likely be training at Nadal's new Academy which is predominately HC's.

Murray sets his own goals - even said recently the '75 year drought at Wimbledon' didn't bother him - he didn't care (wasn't alive for most of it). Having #1 for a few weeks isn't that big of a deal. Moya did it! Does anyone (sane person, that is) think he had a better career than Murray? He has never held it before, so I think it may be more important to him than to other Big 4 members.
Well, I don't really care, but he might regret it later.Murray sets his own goals - even said recently the '75 year drought at Wimbledon' didn't bother him - he didn't care (wasn't alive for most of it). I don't think he ever will, and this could be his only opportunity but he gives that up.Murray can focus on next year...think he will reach number 1....too good not to. When the likes of the Slamless Rios ( should have won that AO against Doperda) got it.
He is just as tired as Novak.....

What's next? Djokovic opening an academy and asking people from Cincinnati to be held responsible for the courts mixture?

Toronto - Rio - Real Slam is going to be a very difficult swing.
Basically the top guys have to figure out which of the three they're going to skip. And going into Rio without any hardcourt matches under their belt might be very, very risky.
Conversely, whoever of the big 4 crashes out of the Olympics early will probably be a lock to win the Real Slam. And it sadly won't be Rogi as he's got a great chance for a medal in mixed.
So it says here that this may be Muzziah's year at the Real Slam.

If I was him #1 would be my goal too, but only he sets his priorities so he can do what he likes.I don't think he ever will, and this could be his only opportunity but he gives that up.

Take a look again.Absolutely stunning. I hope they can also host an ATP tennis event one day, like a Masters 1000. And Nadal can take part.
Take a look again.
Where are spectators going to sit??

French Open, Wimbledon, US Open. Really the only things that matter.Interesting. Didn't know it was that close.

Murray is realistic. He knows #1 is out of the question even if he is within reach now.If I was him #1 would be my goal too, but only he sets his priorities so he can do what he likes.
He's the defending OG champ, maybe that means more to him than we think.
