Nice vids. Your forehand looks good. I really like the net clearance you're getting. On the backhand: your backhand looks a bit awkward. Its a combination of improper footwork and not enough body turn. You have an open stance on most of your backhand shots. To help you set up the correct stance it may help to get the racquet back early, just as you do on your forehand.

Nice forehand, I dig the topspin and net clearance. When you play a match try some inside out forehands. Your opposition is going to get pretty annoyed having to hit such high backhands

Both forehand and backhand, you should pull the racket butt toward the ball, then you thrust the ball off the string. What you are doing is hitting the ball, so your trunk can't naturally rotate~

Danny,

I'm glad that you have improved thru the advices given from tt forum, but I'd like to give you one golden advice if you want to play tennis for a long time.

Clear the ball off the court!

One video shows that you're actually come up to the net when clearly there are balls on the service line. That's a nasty accident waiting to happen.

i sprained my ankle once and i was off the team...for the rest of the season!!

imma getting my first lesson next week
so hopefully i can fix that
backhand and forehand i can learn from videos but footwork is difficult...

I think that your body pops up as you hit your forehand, you want to keep low thru the whole shot.

JK but really ive had my coach do videos and my strokes dont look awkward at all, they might now be textbook but nothing that really looks wierd...

I agree! I don't know why Asians look so funny playing tennis. Asians need to play more sports instead of hitting the books all the time!!

I second that... however, this kid does not look awkward playing tennis, there are plenty of white people that looks a lot worse than him. But I have seen some asian kids that looks ridiculously... gumpy... when playing tennis and it looks like tennis is the only life away from books and computers. but there are always exceptions. danny looks okay to me.

actually some asians do look goofy as hell playing tennis. im an 6 feet asian so people say i look stupid playing tennis. my friend does like a fade away when hitting a flat serve. looks weird as hell, but still over 100's.

Your strokes are not goofy, they are solid. And taking into account the short amount of time you have played I am very impressed. As I said, don't pay attention to these momos.

Lol, I don't know what it means in prince of tennis, I'll check it out when I have time.

"Moonball" is a shot that is too high, loopy and lacks pace. It happens when you don't hit through the ball but try to hit topspin by "sweeping up".

Anyway, I like your videos in general. You're doing fine.

Nah popping up channels your body power into your shot and also adds topspin. Love your forehand, but you gotta follow through your backhand! Don't just block the ball.
