That sounds very serious. I was watching the match and his coaches wanted him off the court, but he kept playing a bit longer. Luckily rain came and his coaches were able to get to him and Nishi threw in the towel. Ugh.
His ability and willingness to cover the court and sacrifice his body was starting to pay off and show in the rabkings, but I guess there's only so much one can reach until the consequences start showing.Sliding on hard court. Don't do it.
Might not have torn completely…I tore mine before and instantly couldn't walk and it swelled up like a volleyball.
Can I ask how you tore your ACL?
Really proves that basing your entire game off scrambling is not going to work long term. An ACL is not the usual injury that happens, but it's a definite possibility. Stan suffered an ACL tear in 2007.
So, the ACL was torn right off? the term is used interchangeably even when it's just a "partial tear", but I suppose in the latter case, there would be no surgery.
Depends on the method he uses. If he goes with the LARS acl (an artificial ACL) he should be back in about 3-5 months. The bad news is that he's gonna require another surgery in 10-20 years but there's a good chance he'll already be retired by then.Poor guy! Rehab will be hard! Maybe 9 months?
So Little Nish is turning out to be as injury prone as Big Nish? That's one aspect he really didn't need to model himself on!!
