Western and Southern Open Stringing

I am going to be at the tournament the next two days. Does P1 do the stringing for the entire tournament?

I was going to stop by the stringing room to say hello and ask some questions! Not sure if I am allowed to ask about specific set ups, but I'll keep the thread updated with pictures!

Would be really cool if you got in Ken. I think stringing rooms are typically off limits, though (unless you have credentials). If you run into resistance, shoot me a text...i have an idea. ;)

Unable to get to the tent as of right now. I've taken a few pictures of gear. One interesting thing is that Haase's Prestige says "MID" on the side of it.

What's up everyone. Been a LONG time. Glad to see many of you are still active.

Mikeler, everyone is great. Thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you.

Great to see you back as well. Thank you for the years of insight and help! Especially all of the questions I've asked through email, ha!

I wasn't able to get to the stringing tent, but I did get a lot of pictures.
I will throw some up when I get home and can use my computer and phone at the same time. Some notes as of right now:
  • CiCi Bellis plays with two dampeners (worm/Wilson fireball)
  • Haase's MID
  • Haase wearing Barricade Club
  • Glossy paint jobs - M. Zverev, Cornet...
  • Fognini was the only PD user with new paint
  • M. Zverev w/ "pro" painted on throat, but 16 mains
  • Dolgopolov w/ 16 crosses
  • Vesnina possibly Origin crosses
  • Wozniacki possibly RPM Dual mains (could be lighting)
  • Vesnina and Woz using same racquet for full match
  • Ferrer w/ Steam and Babolat stencil
  • Paes w/ a Speed and what looks like Hyper G (no close ups)
  • Melo, Bopanna, and Mannarino w/ APD paint
  • Herbert looked to be playing with a Poly Tour Spin G/NG hybrid
  • Mike Bryan w/ Ultra CV (did not look like the Tour model)
  • Bob Bryan with Signature Prince Model

I had a brief conversation with Bob after their win today to see if he would be switching to Wilson as well and his words were, "hmm... probably, once I get a few days off here." I inferred that as he is going to give new sticks a try after the Open.

Bob also told me about Mike's Ultras. He said THEY'RE NOT HIS! He tried someone's out and currently only has two in his bag. Bob said they were not even the right length of 27.25 inches (too short).

I thought I saw Muguruza sporting the new cosmetic as well.

That Bryan blurb is awesome. So Mike borrowers two rackets and plays.....a real lesson for the rest of us?

I am sure he asked the owner the Mgr/I, whether they were Swingweight 1, 2 or 3. He also likely bought some wider sweatbands to make up for the 1/4 inch shorter racquet length;)

Excellent! Same crew as it was when you did the writeup on the stringing at Cincinnati?

Couple of changes. Stringwalla from the boards replaced one guy, and Jamie came all the way from England. Two excellent stringers and great guys. Made for and awesome team.

@drakulie Who dropped out - Chuck, Julian, Mark, Doug, or Casey?

You two need to check your settings. I believe you have your 'Sarcasm Filter' checked...
Speak for yourself, some of us do know the metric system ;)
Back in college I was fluent in the metric system. Everything was in nanometers, grams, m/s^2, liters (or litres if from the Great White North). Things were easy.

Then I got a job and slowly reverted back to the stupid way of measuring things...

I was honestly trying to be helpful, though I was curt so I can understand if you took offense.

I use search engines to convert units very frequently. Most provide a conversion utility in their results if you wanted to further adjust your input.

McLovin is not the kind of guy to take offense. He was joking to begin with. I've played him twice and both times it was an absolute pleasure (mainly because I barely won both times)

Can you say 'drop shot shoe string half volley'?

Unfortunately, the drop shot is my most potent weapon on a court. I'd love to blast ground strokes by people but that is not my forte.

I'm guilty of dragging the thread off topic, so I'll stop at that.
