That is actually low for both TC100 63RA and TC95 63 RA. I had four of the TC100 63RA at one point. All V2. Lowest one was 328 strung.

My only TC95 was 330 swingweight strung. All measured by Babolat RDC.

I love the grommets. I want the color haha! I wish I had gotten more when I had the chance!

@jdawg02 so you had TC97 18x20 that you strung low? Because TC97 16x19 will also be open pattern. I am going with a low power 16g crisp poly @48lbs on 1st string job on ASL2

My review of the ASL2 is up on this forum. Just scroll up a little and you’ll see.

Could you compare the flex between the TC97 and ASL2. Does the ASL2 flex in the hoop too or is it more even like the TC95 ? How is the control and power compared to the TC97 16x19 . Thanks T

Got my ASL2 strung with sliver 7 tour @48lbs. Came out to 326.4g and 32.4 cm bal. I will not as my usual add weight and going with a radically different plan completely stock. I don’t even have an OG. I will try to adapt to playing this racquet this way and see what happens so no changes at least till next string job

I've been through the same route.

I have 2 TC95 (V1) 16x19's which I've used as my only racquets for a couple of years. Both came as 320/305 . I add an overgrip & dampener. So they were around 344g and 310 (10pts HL) in playing form. As an experiment about 6 months ago I shuffled the weights in the pallet and removed about 6g, to get them down to around 338/319 (8 pts HL), which I preferred. I didn't really notice the loss in plow through and found it a bit easier to keep the pace up after 3-4 sets (we play two consecutive 2 set matches in a our regional doubles leagues).

I was fortunate to acquire a used K7 (1st batch) at a low enough price . A good racquet, especially at the net and mid court pick ups. It was a bit lacking in plow through in stock form so I added about 1-2 g of lead @ 12 and a few g's in at the end of the handle to bring it up to around 333g and 7 pts HL. That was better, but after persevering for a few months I still found I wasn't getting the kind of pace and power I was looking for unless I had plenty of time to prepare (ie full swing etc) - which is ok in singles, but something of a luxury in doubles. I've passed this on to my 30 year old , who's never been lacking power, so he's enjoying it just fine.

I was teased by the tales of lower swing weight in the V3 models, and thanks to the TW F/Sale forum and helpful @Grigore Petre , I've since acquired a TC 95 (v3) 16x19. If I had been able to afford new, I would have gone for the 310/315 spec - expecting that to be close to my slightly pared down 320/305 V1's. The spec I acquired was the 300/325 (6 pts HL) version. In its standard strung form, with an overgrip & dampener it comes in at 330/325 (6pts). I added about 7g at the end of the handle , so it's now around 337/318 (8 pts) - so very similar to my current V1's ( so that I can swap if string breaks during a match) . I've used it in half a dozen matches, plus practice, social sessions and I'm delighted with it. I don't have a means of measuring SW with any accuracy, but I presume from this thread that its somewhat lower than the V1's. It feels very similar when just picking them up and shadow swinging, but I've noticed a useful benefit in matches in maintaining the pace, with no noticeable loss of strength of shots, ability to return hard serves etc. It's hard to quantify but I find my serve working better (probably the improved swing speed), and volleys/pick ups more controlled. My match results have also improved , but that may, or may not be the racquet :)

I hope that helps

Suffice it to say, there is light then again there is light :p At 326g, that was really light for me. Ok new plan, a tiny bit of weight to get it around 333

So I bought the TC95 16x19 310/315 70 RA and played a couple of times with it. I think I'm going to sell it, because it's not good for my elbow and shoulders and also the swingweight is a bit too high in some situations and after an hour intensive play.
Thinking now about the TC97, also 310/315. Will the swingweight be lower and is it better for the arm than tc95? Or should I wait for some reviews of the ASL2.
I'm 49 now and would like to play with one racket now for the next years, I've switched too often the past years :)

lol - I had a feeling that was coming 8-B:-D

Lol...super light just lost track of the racquet swinging. I have added some weight at 2&10 and 7” spot to bring up to 333g and 32.5 balance. That should be better although it’s still off by at least 10g from my other sticks

May I ask what string & tension you’re using? TC95 70RA is very comfy and isn’t high in SW. SW would be somewhere in 285-295 unstrung

@topspn I'll be interested to see where you end up with the ASL2
I am trying to keep the weight down intentionally. I want to see if I can bring my normal spec weight down while less HL and retain SW. This latest spec seems good with 333g and 6HL. SW with poly 16g and weight i added should be around 330. Will see of course once I’m on the court

Agreed. I have a TC95 70RA 310mm and love the feeling of groundstrokes with it. Not all 70RAs are created equal as I just bought and subsequently sold a Pure Aero Tout of similar RA.

The 70RA on the Angells is unstrung, so strung is probably more like 65. Pure aero is 69 strung and not foam filled, so a big difference in feel.
Depends how screwedyour elbow and shoulder are as it doesn’t matter how soft the frame is if your carrying elbow and shoulder injury’s rest would be my initial recommendation.
I had to string at 48 with Tc 95 else it felt too crisp, whereas I’m at 50 or even 52 depending on what string I use on the tc97.

I'm using msv focus hex 1.23 strung at 53/51. It feels very different in the tc95 than in my other rackets.
In the k7 it feels very crisp and in the tc95 it feels harsh/dead. But I can solve that with another string setup I guess.
The swingweight of tc95 is a thing I can't really explain well. I know it shouldnt be too heavy for me, I'm used to heavier or at least the same swingweight, but somehow I experience in stuations where quick handling is necessary or with heavy balls high on the backhand that it's too heavy too maneuver.
My racket history in recent years: tec tfight 320, tc95 v2 ra63, yonex vcore pro duel g 310 and k7 red. I don't know what exactly sw of the tec320 was, but it was just fine, also for the yonex. K7 was lacking some stability, a bit too light, and tc95 ra63 same problem as with my tc95 ra70, but with better solid feel.
Thats's why I thought tc97 or asl2 good be the right choice.

@HenriS First, I don’t see the point of the differential tension as this is already an open pattern frame so you will get excellent spin already. Tension is a bit high, I’d try 48-50 range full string bed. Or try other strings as Angells can be string sensitive and same string doesn’t always work in a different frame. To tackle the percieved sluggishness, I’d suggest adding weight to 7” from the butt cap so top of the handle approx. This is a terrific spot to smooth out the swing. Start with around 3g and add 1gm at a time until your happy with the results. It will smooth out the swing but will reach a limit and adding more will then become cumbersome so add slowly. Don’t use any permanent weight while your experimenting, if you have a bunch of grip rings you can layer them or some 1/4 inch electrical tape.

Angell uses one butt cap design for the three different handle shapes. Consequently, the butt cap does not fit snug on the pallet.

Does anyone know if other brand/model butt caps perfectly fit the different Angell handle shapes and sizes?

Now we’re talking So much better with the weight and can feel my swing and timing. ASL2 carries the heritage of a big serving stick from its brethren. Also did 20mins of hitting my own drop shots. It’s still a light frame but seems to hit really well and swings nicely. Silver 7 tour seems like the real deal control string. Can’t wait for a practice or match

Thanks for the advice, I"ll try that!

The ASL2 frame plays very solid on all cylinders and the control, flex and power is in between a K7 Red and a TC97 (16x19). The launch angle is not super high and I can flatten out the ball nicely when needed. Serves are a breeze as the racquet cuts through the air nicely with its head light balance. I strung my racquet with a 1.25 slick poly at 57lbs but my next go round I will string it with a shaped 16g poly to tame the liveliness a little and tighten up the string spacing. On my previous TC97 (16x19) I was stringing them in the low 50’s and high 40’s but now playing with an open string pattern racquets especially in warmer conditions I have learned to love the higher tensions again. Less vibrations and can swing out freely and does not hurt the arm or wrist due to the frame construction features such as the Active Siloxane Layer and High Modulus Carbon. So far so good!
Is it faster than k7 or tc97? Whats the Sw?

I bought the K7 Red again for further testing (since mine was the first batch) and the racket is really different, much more stable, with much more control and power. By default it does not surpass my tc97 16x19 (310g) but after I customized with lead to get the K7 Red close to the tc97 swingweight (296 sw), it is hard to choose which one is best.

Which one did you like best, K7 Red or asl-2?

I am just getting started with ASL2 so very early days. However I can tell it will be more of a dictating stick so will be a better fit for me. I’ll be playing a practice match this evening.

Is grip size larger like on first batch?

Just observations on head shape. The ASL2 was a bit wider then TC95 so tiny bit rounder. And compared to my dahcor 97, it is also wider tiny bit. My Dahcor 97 feels about as forgiving as TC95. I also have the new Blade V7 and that one is a tiny bit rounder so 2 and 10 tiny bit more.

Will i gain much more stability if i move the weights in the handle of my tc95 up as much as possible? Currently 320g, 10hl with the hybrid grip. I have a tc97 310g 6hl and that is stable. If i were to match that weight and balance would i get anywhere near the stability of tc97? (Tried adding extra weight at 3&9 and 4.30&7.30 but the overall weight made it a bit too heavy.) Played with the new blade today and liked how solid it was. Really nice soft and stable feel at contact. Would like to try and replicate with my tc95 and thereby avoid getting the blade :) Thanks
