i'm amazed she's still in the top 200 to be honest....Look for her ranking to fall back to her low 192 rank at the end of the year!
She'll always have that win over Sharapova post- drug ban to help her sleep at nightI think the cut off to enter the lowest WTA qualifying tournament is around 260s. Above that, it is all ITF tournaments, which is minimum ranking points until you get to semis. I feel for Bouchard. Agassi came back so Bouchard has a chance in 2020! I be happy to see her in the low 100s.
I thought she lost in qualifying.... or was that for a different tournament? She’ll play Sevastova in USO R1, not a good matchup and the highest ranked player she has played in many months
The Hotel should have insurance to cover the lost and refund Bouchard’s account! Boy, that living large on somebody’s dime for sure!Police arrested a man who pretended to be brother Eugenie Bouchard. For almost three months, he enjoyed the luxury of free at the 1 South Beach Hotel, Miami and performed for all payments via "sister" Eugenie. He ended up in a police cell, cause damage of around $ 42,000.

Did they give her a wildcard??!
Ya, watching this on TV right now, and Bouchard looks like she's fumbling around like a newbie junior, in the exact same style from the past few years. How can a player on the professional tour continue NOT improving?? In other words, WHY can't Bouchard get better?? So many shots, footwork, movement, etc, look soooo weak & uncoordinated for that level! Oh well, at least Bouchard has millions $$$$ save up for a nice, comfy, life.BOATchard escaped a bagel there. Sevastova was serving for 5-0 but mugged it up a bit.

Hey Harry get off the crack she didn't get a wildcard she got direct entry which is even more ridiculous. This girl needs to either disappear or put in the leg work on the challenger tour. Why the US open gave her direct entry is beyond me.Sevastova seeded #11 took out Bouchard (ranked 119); 6-3, 6-3 in 1st round of the 2019 U.S. Open. Bouchard lost in the qualifying but got a WC into the main draw anyways! Another tough lost for Bouchard among a long stretch of 1st round match losses. Sevastova is another string of seeded players that Bouchard has to face in 1st round matches! Bouchard needs to get her ranking up by beating one or two seeded player or end up going to the ITF circuit!
Two games away from ending this week ranked in the 140s - you can only prop up a joke of a tennis player for so long with a zillion wildcards (edited for clarity: the US Open wasn't a WC ...

All these posts contradict each other.Hey Harry get off the crack she didn't get a wildcard she got direct entry which is even more ridiculous. ... Why the US open gave her direct entry is beyond me.
Are you saying Bouchard was 19+ Points Higher in the Rankings right before the deadline? What was her ranking?Because she was top 100 at the entry cutoff. They didn’t “give” her direct entry.
I am still VERY VERY confused. How is a WTA pro that gets to the Finals of 2 slams, go from that to basically what amounts to 100 ranked player in reality..................... This still doesn't make sense to me. You don't get to 2 slam finals by getting lucky
She made 2 semis and 1 final all in the same year. Likely a combination of nobody knew her game yet, particularly since they were 3 different surfaces, and there is luck involved. Essentially was on a 6-month hot streak.
It's not just the US Open. All tournaments work like this. Players do not have access to magical transportation means. They have to make travel plans and reservations like us mere mortals. When they find out they have to qualify for a tournament, they will plan their schedule accordingly so they can make it there earlier. If they took the rankings a week or two before a tournament, then what if a player failed to defend points and was then prevented from playing the tournament she had planned the following week? Or, you suddenly make a lot of points so a week or two later, you decide to completely alter your schedule to compete in a bigger tournament, thus knocking out players who thought they would get in? It would be unmanageable for everyone.different tournament
for some reason US Open decides on main draw participants wayyyy in advance of the tournament, so she was known to be a main draw participant in US Open many weeks ago when she was ranked in the 90s and that list came out - quite lucky for her, as she would have been in qualifying if they'd used the next week's rankings
Yes, this is E. Bouchard. Well done, Harold.
So in reality, she is nothing more than 70-100 ranked player ?? and she is doomed to never win any tournaments in WTA ? this is worse than Anna Kornikova. at least she was 10-20 ranked most of the time and even was top 10 at times.
She needs a bigger serve that is well placed. I think that could change her game and make it better.Other than I think you are being generous with 70-100 ranking.... I think you've pretty much summed it up.
She either has very little game, and just had some things go her way, or she enjoys the limelight more and once she got a "platform" there she went.
I have said in the past though, much as I dislike many things about her, I do think she may have been on track for something before the concussion. Who knows what that did to her.
BTW for the others who were wondering, WCs that don't translate into main draw wins won't help a player at all.
Biochemistry did that to her. That also took her to her peak. Quite chaotic. You need to be square (a.k.a. in balance): Fedr.Who knows what that did to her.

I said "... WCs that don't translate into main draw wins won't help a player at all", not "...WCs don't help at all".well, 1 WTA ranking point and more than $8,000 in prize money from Toronto, for example, plus of course the opportunity for more points and prize money if you translate even the occasional WC into a win
not sure i'd say they don't help a player "at all"
She either has very little game...

As for the 1 point and $8,000, I was taking for granted that we were referring to a player like Bouchard. 1 point and $8,000 doesn't make any difference for her at this point. Of course, to a player at another stage in their career, it could.
Sorry but you don't have very little game when you are top 200 in the world. I know a couple of gals who have "game", dominated D1 college tennis, and are struggling to make it on tour ranked below 500. It is incredibly competitive at the pro level and all of these girls have "game", just not at the level of top 50.
Someone put this thread to death already.
Not one of you would post on this manJaw's thread if she was 50 lbs heavier
130 pages dedicated to a 200 ranked person who should be a nobody.
What a sad veil of horny jobbers.
There are websites for this sort of fixation that are much more rewarding than InstaVanity
I thought she was a billionaire? Could've sworn I read somewhere that she inherited a **** ton of money.... maybe i'm imagining itBouchard is not a billionaire, and she’s entering the stage of her career where she’s hemorrhaging money and feeling the need to plug all sorts of random low-level **** on social media (like car seat covers some months back) - I think she’s happy to have the free pay checks
People like me see and ignore your ten idiotic threads a day, I trust you can ignore one thread that doesn’t interest you
I don't think you know what "ignore" means.

While Bouchard is certainly not poor (multi millionaire for sure) she is nowhere as rich as some people here think she is.
