Djokovic: I feel great, I am full of confidence going to London
The world number one Novak Djokovic said that he feels great after his triumph at the Paris Masters and that he is full of confidence.
Djokovic defeated Denis Shapovalov 6-3 6-4 in 65 minutes.
That's how he earned a fifth title at this tournament out of six finals, as well as his 34th Masters trophy and 77th career title. This is Novak's fifth title of the season, after previously triumphing in Melbourne, Madrid, Wimbledon and Tokyo.
"I feel great, I am full of confidence throughout the whole week. Wins in the last three days gave me encouragement for this final and the tournament in London. I have a few days to rest and prepare, and I hope that I will play great at that tournament"
"I played excellent at this tournament, especially the last three matches. As the tournament progressed, I felt better and better", said Djokovic after winning Paris.
At the beginning he spoke to the Bercy crowd in French.
"Thank you to the crowd for coming in big numbers to support me. I felt great this week, I am very satisfied with my performance today, I was confident and strong. Also, thank you to Denis on nice words", said Novak before resuming in English.
He sent a message to his young opponent.
"Denis, I only have praises and positive things to say to you as a person off the court and as a player on the court. You already have a great career but I am sure that the best things are yet to come for you", said Novak who didn't forget to thank his brothers and team members for the support.
Shapovalov was giving just as much praise.
"Congratulations Novak. You were better, I wish you all the best at the tournament in London, I am sure, I am sure you will go far there as well", said Shapovalov, who will climb to 15th on the ATP list next Monday.
