I's definitely the entire section. Massive amount of bump ups everywhere. You are right about the Southern Section, at least Georgia any way. Tons of bumps... Lots of bumps to 5.0
SandbaggerWow, I've never seen this many bump ups (Georgia/Atlanta). I was bumped to 4.5 but was able to appeal back down to 4.0.
Oh, I'm up. Was up late last night too! Just have a full inbox to tend as well as comment here.
In our area of New England there was a lot of movement from 4.0 to 4.5 in both men and women. There seemed to be very little from 3.5 to 4.0. I only found 1 guy in our whole 3.5 flight (self-rated) who got bumped, plus a couple other previous 3.5 bump-downs that continued to play 4.0 anyway. I saw a few 3.0 to 3.5. I didn’t notice any bump-downs among the players I checked.
8 guys? Do you have a team left? I had 6 guys bumped a few years ago and it almost destroyed the team. It was particularly bad since we do early-start leagues in our area, so we were already in the middle of the season when the bumps happened.Seriously, including me I think 8 guys on my team got bumped up to 4.5...and I'm currently on a 2 match skid.
My guess is that there will be a lot of appeals back down that will be granted. Did you just go thru the automated appeal process?Wow, I've never seen this many bump ups (Georgia/Atlanta). I was bumped to 4.5 but was able to appeal back down to 4.0.

My appeal was denied; not sure many TX appeals will be granted. My guess is that there will be a lot of appeals back down that will be granted. Did you just go thru the automated appeal process?
I think it'll be the opposite. My guess is they adjusted the entire southern section as a whole in some way. So anyone close to a bump before adjustment, won't be in the appeal range afterwards. My guess is that there will be a lot of appeals back down that will be granted. Not seeing anything for NorCal yet..... still says 2018 rating.....
I see 2019 Nor Cal ratings just fineNot seeing anything for NorCal yet..... still says 2018 rating.....
I didn't get bumped despite being at least 3.98 on the @schmke TT 4.0 team. There were a TON of bumps from 4.0 to 4.5, though. I lost 5 guys from my team (second place). The first place team (& district playoff winner) lost 11 players (!), as did the section-winning team.
I was only 14-13 for the year, so it would have been a surprising year for me to get bumped.
You are probably looking at the special NorCal site. Look at TennisLink. Not seeing anything for NorCal yet..... still says 2018 rating.....
Yes.Middle States?

I hope that's the case. I don't like how tons of people get bumped only to appeal back down. They crushed the 40+ league I play in with bump ups to 5.0I think it'll be the opposite. My guess is they adjusted the entire southern section as a whole in some way. So anyone close to a bump before adjustment, won't be in the appeal range afterwards.
In my area even the guys we're shocked got bumped have had their appeals declined.
And if your area adopts the 4-court format, little place for them to play in 40+ now.I hope that's the case. I don't like how tons of people get bumped only to appeal back down. They crushed the 40+ league I play in with bump ups to 5.0
Got bumped from 3.5 to 4.0. No room for me on the 4.0 40+ team at my club. I guess I'm a free agent.
Was surprised I got bumped. Only played 7 guys that got bumped all year and lost to 5 of them. Only win was at Nationals against two guys from Texas, which I'm guessing got me bumped up. Doesn't help that all of my partners in postseason were massively underrated looking at TLS, TennisRecord and schmke's estimates.
Last year, schmke missed on me. This time, he was right. Now I get to dial back tennis and enjoy my kids' athletics, I guess.
One note: Both of Texas's 3.5 singles players got the dreaded double-bump. They weren't cheating at all...
As I mentioned earlier, I had 7 guys get bumped on my 4.0 18+ team. I've heard from 5 of the 7 and 4 of those had their appeals denied to move back down. So maybe there won't be as many appeals granted as I thought this year.
We had 13 guys get bumped up.
What sections?

Can someone remind me. For those that are granted an appeal back down to where they were. Are those subject to a 3 strike rule for the rest of this year? I always forget how that works.

Does the 3 strike rule apply if you have a C generated rating?Yes...you have the three strike rule to manage.
Does the 3 strike rule apply if you have a C generated rating?
No, although there are anecdotal reports of players with C ratings getting an administrative adjustment.Does the 3 strike rule apply if you have a C generated rating?
