Wow , clinical match against Opelka

Great all round game .

I can see Jason easily crack top 50 this year if he can continue the form this week

I believe it's actually black but comes out looking grey and horrible on tv. They need to factor that in and get rid of it.

Yea but during Laver cup, their court comes out Black even on TV screen, I mean really black. Why is it that Laver cup can do it and NY open can't ?

It just looks better because it says Laver :)

Or maybe it's being broadcast in higher def? I agree though, LC looks good, NYO not so much.

Hi @Jasonjung,
if you come back to this thread sometime in the future and send your answers, I would have this question - how much good overview do you have of tennis history? For example, you remember the names of all the winners of Wimbledon in the Open era (since 1968), without using Wikipedia/Google? Do you watch matches from the past, e.g from the 1980s or 1990s?

Hi guys!

My name's Jason Jung. I'm a Taiwanese-American ATP player currently ranked #211 in the world. I reached my career-high ranking of #194 in April after a few good weeks on the tour (won a Futures and reached my first Challenger final in Leon, Mexico). A friend of mine recently told me about the Tennis Warehouse community and about how the members are really passionate about discussing anything tennis related. He suggested that I join for fun and see if anyone would like to gain some insight into a pro player's life firsthand (also mentioned that Filip Peliwo had a pretty popular AMA thread on here a while ago). Well here I am! Feel free to ask me anything! I'll do my best to respond to as many questions as I can during my downtime. The tour life can get a little lonely at times haha.

A little more background info about myself:

I grew up Torrance, CA, played juniors in SoCal and college tennis at the University of Michigan (Class of 2011). I decided to pursue pro tennis in 2012 and have been working hard to rise up in the rankings ever since. I just got back from playing in the French Open qualies where I won my first round match. The next few weeks, I'll be playing a few grass court challengers in the UK before I head over to Wimbledon to play the qualies and hopefully make it the main draw. Fingers crossed!

Also, I have a blog that I occasionally update to keep my friends and family about my experiences on the tour:

Excited to interact with you guys,

Congrats on your SF stint in NY. I was rooting for you against Seppi. The Veteran Seppi was too consistent tho. You did good. Better luck next time.

Great to see our once resident player Jason Jung facing off against Medvedev in the round of 32! Let's see how he does. Must have got in as an LL(?) since he lost in the qualifier final against Pospisil.

Hey Jason. I hope you have time to answer my question. I used to play some tennis. Very talented. I’m a bit overweight now, but if I get back in shape you think you could help me get on tour? Not right away obviously. I’m a real hard worker. Not the best 40 yard dash, but I have a good serve and forehand.

Hey Jason, even though you lost, you played a great match against Medvedev. It was alot closer than score indicated, and it proved you belong up there with top players. You are definitely top 50 player
