Head G360+ Radical Pro 2021

I liked the straight beam

I’m going to assume the 20/21.5/21 isn’t visible to the naked eye or noticeable in grasp. Given mass retail production tolerances, it’s amazing that the 360+ RadPro mold was designed to such an exacting taper!

I don’t feel and notice a taper to the naked eye

It is noticeable - you can feel that the inner part of the throat is slightly more elevated than the outside, and it grows slightly in the middle of the head. It is discrete, but definitely noticeable

don't think so. Especially if you're not looking for it...

The first time I noticed it was while holding the throat of the racquet between points. I originally thought that the tapered beam was supposed to be only on the overall shape (e.g. the whole throat would be 20, slightly widening up to 21.5 on the middle of the hoop and back to 21 at 12), rather than this slight asymmetry. FWIW, I’ve checked the 360+ PMP and, while constant throughout the racquet, it also has this “thicker inside, thinner outside” beam construction - I’d guess 21 inside and 20 mm outside. It’s easier to notice it comparing to the Gravity Pro side by side (which has a more traditional beam).

Please note that this is by no means a detractor. If anything, I’ve only seen it on great racquets so far :)

Impressive scores from the pro

and MP even better

From what I've seen so far, there's not really a performance benefit of the Pro over the MP. You get a slightly more classic spec and feel in exchange for dealing with more weight. But actual performance (power, spin, stability, accuracy) isn't any worse with the MP and might even be a bit better in some areas. Note I haven't played the Pro yet; I have played the MP and have been looking at all the reviews and comments carefully to see if it's worth spending a week with the Pro.

I feel like the score disparities are more to do with the playtesters chosen for each racket, as opposed to actual differences between the rackets themselves.

I agree. I think they should have had at least one reviewer in common that could have summarized the differences directly and given us some scores to compare.

MP is the hidden gem.

Dang, looks an awful lot like the minimal bumper on my Gravities... (which are now quite dinged due to the lack of bumper coverage)
The paint on these Radicals is way more durable than Gravities from my experience; plenty of low slices with my Radical demos and no paint chips. The Radicals' paint does feel "plasticky" though.

As a former radical user that wasn't keen on the first gen graphene these sound like a night and day difference. The Pro has me interested as it resembles the classic 21mm straight beam of the pre graphene models with a return to the plush rad feel.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet.

Head lists the headsize as 98sq in, I compare this racket to my Pro Tour 2.0, old TI Radical MP, and my IG Prestige, and the headsizes all look the same.
So is the Radical Pro a 95 or 98?

It’s a 98 - it’s wider at ~2 and ~10. I may be imagining things, but I found the overall head shape to be somewhat isometric

You are playing the Speed right? Which version and have you done anything to it? The Rad MP will need customisation for sure.

Speed MP but I also just picked up the new Extreme. To be honest though I've only played one match with the Speed, and a bunch of ball machine. Winter + pandemic + life is severely limiting my tennis.

I see. Well, I expect the Rad MP to be very close to the Speed MP, so I was wondering what you are looking for in that frame. I am looking to replace my trusty IG Rad Youtek MPs since I have them from a long time and also because I can't find grommets for them anymore. The Extreme is a bit different frame form the other two. I was tempted to try out the Extreme Tour along the Ezone 100, but until now I didn't manage, and I think that in general that might be a mistake (some elbow issues).

Yes, the tennis is not as before. Let's see how long that situation will continue. I have been using the slow time to play test a bunch of racquets that is why I ask around about impressions, but I am leaning towards the Rad MP. It should be close to what I currently have, and, apart from a bit more pop and maybe a bit more spin I am not looking for anything very different. I have been looking to change from 18/20 to 16/19 for a while too.

I already have the 360 Extreme MP and love it. Just using the downtime to experiment. I like the new Speed a lot. Curious about the Rad because I think it's a little crisper, which I like. I hit with the previous Rad and liked it, but it was maybe too stiff. But the new one looks on the money.

Head has too many good racquets right now, seriously.

Did I mention I also have a Prestige? Lol! Although I'm selling that one.

Yes, Head seems to be recovering their reputation, basically issuing classics left right and center, like in every line that they offer: The Extreme Tour/MP, The Prestige MID, the Speed MP and the Pro, and now the Radical MP/Pro.

How do you find the stiffness of the Extreme?

I play tested the previous Radical too and have similar impressions: too stiff and not with that nice feel as my frames, which I am used to. As for the Prestige, I tried the MID, and it is everything so many say it is, it is just too demanding for me, so I didn't proceed with a purchase. I was tempted to buy at least one, so that I have it around, but I resisted the temptation. Becoming a racquet hoarder should not happen.

Got an MP on the way. Should have it in a couple of days, will compare it to my ezone 98, V7 Blade. Favor the new ezone 98 for modern game match play. I'll throw on a fairway leather grip w OG, probably a fb of soft poly low 50s. It should be right in my wheelhouse. My friend told me it's going to look like I'm playing with a light saber :-D

I don't have the + Extreme yet. The 360 has zero stiffness issues. Great stiffness.

Has anyone seen comparisons of this vs the Youtek IG pro?
Asked tennis nerd and he said IG has a bit more flex and old school feel, I play IG so will try next week the difference, definitely worth try this new one, I ordered tk82 pallets as well for a fair comparison

"More flex and old-school feel"... that's all I needed to know. I'm happy I don't have to buy another racquet... plus I like the IG paint-job better anyway. I find that the IG Rad Pro is a very special beast indeed...

Not able to resist the temptation, not that disciplined. Just a savage that ordered both a g360 radical mp and a Prestige MID against my better judgement.

I figured with a TF 40 305, RF 97A just sitting around, the Wilson BP and the Tecnifibre RS waiting, and soon the Rad MP that would be rather unwise on my part, but who knows, there might or might not be a link to a shopping cart with a Prestige MID in it somewhere on my laptop.

I do like me the Prestige Mid doctored up with some leather and silicone. Will be curious as to your take on both

Compared to IG it def felt muted, amazing stick but switching is not a given, the IG is amazing! Will change pallet and string all power on it

You can’t be a real Head fan without a strange obsession with pallets. :)

I just received a demo Prestige Pro which I will compare to two other 315g frames: the Pure Drive Tour and the PS 97 v13. We are trying to restart our USTA leagues in a couple of weeks so I need to get my match racquets sorted after months of bored experimentation.

true that !=) Looking back at my junior career I played the best with Radicals and head pallets, I tried Yonex, dunlop and Fischer but not even close, of course at the time I did not even know what a pallet was=) Makes so much sense now, had to order a new Hydrosorb grip since the glue came off and it was hard to get it tightly wrapped

I tried the G360+ Radical Pro yesterday for the first time. I tried the MP previously, but unfortunately I no longer have that demo to compare side-by-side. Versus my memory of the MP, the Pro has a better feel and it's certainly very maneuverable despite the extra weight. As other reviewers have also found, there didn't seem to be a big difference in the actual shots coming off the two different versions. Compared to a more traditional 315g setup like the Wilson Pro Staff, the Pro does have more weight in the head but it's not to the extreme of, for example, the EZONE 98 Tour. My main test on whether a racquet has too much weight for me is whether I can snap off a good spin serve or whether I struggle to get the RPMs, and the Rad Pro passed this test easily for me.

Interestingly, my main error with the Rad Pro was hitting balls into the top of the net especially when trying to hit big; with many other frames I'm more apt to hit long. I did get a feel for the "creativity" aspect of the Radical as I felt that it handled slice, heavy topspin, and flatter drives equally well.

I'm trying this one alongside the Pro Staff 97 v13 and the Pure Drive Tour (2021). The Pro Staff has less mass in the head and has noticeably less power, but a lot of maneuverability and a sweet feel. The Pure Drive Tour is definitely more forgiving than the Rad Pro but also more stiff, and I would say also feels like it has less mass in the head. Despite its reputation as a big power frame, I thought that it hits with more spin and easy depth but not necessarily more pace.

No, the TGT260.5 has its own layup -- IG Radical Pro

Hi,
I played for some time with the 260.4... IG Radical Pro. I wonder, if even the layup of the 260.5 is the same, and string pattern, and head size and beam as the IG Radical Pro, why does the 260.5 at all exist and not just the 260.4?

The 360+ Radical Pro is amazing. I'm very impressed with the power of this racquet from the baseline while still delivering great control on full cuts inside the court. It sits in between the 360+ prestige MP and the 360+ prestige Pro. Better feel and pocketing than the prestige pro and much more easy power than the prestige MP. Serving is very smooth. Nice blend of everything. Sweetspot felt forgiving too. I usually play more of a counter punching style and struggle with racquets in this weight range while defending. Especially out of the backhand corner. but this racquet had the maneuverability and enough free power to play that style. I have been using the instinct MP and was enjoying it but will definitely be making the switch the Radical Pro. I hit with the MP version and enjoyed but it just didnt have the buttery feel of the Pro so i gravitated toward the Pro. Used Head Hawk 16 @ 55 lbs. Head is killing it right now...

260.1= YT Radical MP 18x20
260.2= YT Radical MP 16x19
260.3= IG Radical MP 18x20
260.4= IG Radical MP 16x19
260.5= IG Radical Pro 16x19
Looks like 260.3 and 260.5 are different layups The Pro has higher SW
