He'll also be thinking about mileage heading into Wimbledon though, since that is arguably the biggest target of the year for him.
What mileage? The guy is most likely rusty as he hasn't played since AO. I won't be surprised if he loses his first match in MC against Sinner.

He was always powerful for a wiry guy..You always had a wiry guy in the group who was very strong for his frame. He is that guy.

Just that in between he went vegan and then hell sort of broke loose..

Subtle tank this one, methinks. Reminds me of loss to Vesely in MC 2016. Let's hope for the same epilogue.

Better if he tanks in QF. Save the fuel for the grass where his flat shots will be rewarded handsomely.

You all know, Rafa's million RPM will be a very ugly sight against the current Djokovic. Don't think a defeat to Thiem/Stefanos/Zverev does well for the confidence as well.

New species of capybarra named after tennis ace Rafael Nadal
Researchers from Brazil found the new species, slightly larger than the regular capybarra, in a remote part of the Brazilian jungle in March 2021. The species has been named "El Capybarra Nadalito Espectacular".

Good draw. Belgrade is what matters now.

Anyway, I heard that there will be two ATP 250 tournaments in Belgrade. Why?

It has gotten so complicated that I now only half-heartedly figure these things out now. I will say that I still think Nadal is the biggest threat to Nole maintaining no. 1 and being No. 1 at the end of the year. Nadal has never won the YE no 1 without winning 2 majors and I don't think he is doing that ever again since the USO has changed to a faster court.

While we were a bit disappointed with Djokovic's play at MC, he is probably rusty. I think he will win Belgrade and pick up 250 ATP points. Nadal at Barcelona will be hard since the field is harder.

One thing I predicted is that Djokovic may keep the no. 1 weeks going a lot longer than people expect because 1) Nadal is also focusing on the majors; and 2) since the next gen and next next gen are splitting the points. It is actually good for Nole for Medvedev to do well at ATP Cup and AO, then Rublev to win a lot of 500s and get to the final at MC, and then Tsitsipas to win MC. Djokovic can stay ahead by winning 2 majors and doing well in the hardcourt season on 1000s.

I should also add that Nadal is way down the list of points so far for 2021 and did himself no favors by losing early in his favorite 1000. He is vulnerable and if he say were to get both Rublev and Tsitsipas in his draw at the FO, then he could lose early. The ********* acting as if he is invincible are whistling past the graveyard. He does not seem to have the same level of stamina. In his third set against Rublev, he was bent over after a long point. I have never seen him do that before. His biggest advantage is that he seldom loses a set at RG and so he finishes quickly. But if he get a 4 setter or two before the sf of f, he is definitely vulnerable and if he does not win the FO, he may not be in the final 8. Then Nole is almost guaranteed to finish no. 1 if he plays his usual steady game at the bigger tournaments and slams (and no DFs!).
