During a press conference organized on Tuesday in New York, Lloyd Harris spoke about the definitive explosion of the Next Gen.
“It's been a while since cracks have appeared on the Big 3 (Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic).

It has been difficult for the younger generation to access these Grand Slams. Novak was unstoppable until this very last game. I just think he ran into an extremely difficult opponent. Daniil has played great tennis throughout the summer and is a reflection of this new generation.

I've known these guys for a long time, we've been competitive in the juniors before and it's good to see us all progressing. Now I think it's time to kick this Big 3 ’and let the younger generation take over,” said the current World 31st before going further.

“We are obviously fierce competitors on the court, but I'm not at all scared or intimidated by coming onto the court against them. And also now, with my recent victories, I have more confidence, even if you face Rafa, Roger or Novak, you have to have the conviction to beat them and I know that I can.
You know it will be an extremely difficult game and you have to be up to the challenge for sure. But that's what we love, we love going in front of the fans, to new stadiums and having those creepy moments facing one of these legends."

Weakest surface? The Citi Open is not indoor or grass. It's outdoor hard and Rafa does just fine on outdoor hard. In fact you can make a case (and many do) that he's better than Federer on outdoor hard courts.

All talk till they actually play big3 at slams. Harris barely won against an injured Rafa. Danil beat Novak but danil is also country miles ahead of the tour on hard courts.

So should we celebrate HH for bageling Federer on his best surface, Wimbledon? Come on man, we all know how bad and injured Federer and Nadal were in those matches. Let's get real. Harris would have 0 chance of winning had Rafa shown even his AO 2021 form. Harris just vultured that win and he's running his mouth like he did something great. And no, Nadal is not better than Federer on outdoor hard courts.

Both have this same approach of trying to stand up to greats ( Big3/ Novak)verbally instead of elevating yourself ( I am here to win kind like Med does) to win a slam, this leaves a bitter taste.

If you want to show them you are not scared, Defeat them and win a slam, then talk

Injuries haven't kept them from staying on top. Now it's time to take advantage of those injuries (including age related wear and tear) to bring those three down! No mercy.

His wording says all that is wrong about tennis right now and society right now:

"let the younger generation take over"

No, you don't let anyone take over. They have to earn it. This is completely the wrong mindset by "letting" someone win. We are in the age of participation trophies, where we feel like everyone "deserves" success.

I sure hope so! I like that so many of the younger players believe that they can break through and become champions! I expect Djokovic to hang around for a few more years, win a few more Grand Slams (he will concentrate on them and play less of the other tournaments), and Nadal could still win on clay (and I hope he does!). But all of the other non-big 3 players can win now and they know it!

I think it's a stretch to say "all of the other non-big 3 players can win now". Only these 5 can realistically win a slam: Zverev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Thiem if he makes a strong comeback, Berrettini. Probably not even Berrettini and Tsitsipas only on clay. That might change 5 years from now, but right now this is the case.

I disagree - there will be a "fluke" winner, outside of the ones you mention. I think Alcaraz has the potential to do it, not saying he will, but it is possible. There are a few others who if the conditions are right could break through and win one.
