Djokovic "had a bit of luck" against Federer at Wimbledon 2019
To lose against someone like that, it's very disappointing, because you feel like he was mentally out of it already. Just gets the lucky shot at the end, and off you go.

How bad is Rafa then to lose to Dinosaur?
Bery, bery bad.
It was one of the worst matches played by the Spanish player in that season.
He didn't even play 80% of his chances and still could have won the first set that would have decided the match in his favor.

7 Wimbledons, 4 title defences, 28 match winning streak and counting. This match paved the way to Djokovic placing himself amongst the absolute legends of the game on the lawn, where real tennis is played. HC goat aswell. Some other players can only dominate on one singular surface.

Sampras, Nole and Fed the 3 greatest grass players in the history of tennis, sitting alone in the pantheon of grass greats, while no one else is even in the same grass stratosphere as those 3 Grass Goats. Everyone else is tier, two tiers, 3 tiers even 5 tiers below them. ;)

Djokovic: I had “a bit of luck”

Dude that's half of your career at Wimbledon lol. Opponents choking & vacuum of actual competition outside of a dinosaur Roger.
Replace 2014-15 Nole to fight Roger in 2007-08 with prime Roger instead of Rafa and he'll get humiliated in straight & 4 sets.
Djokovic was plain lucky.

And let's not get to 2021-22 Wimbledon vultures of his, disgusting vacuum of competition.
I am sure that injured person with zero Wimbledon finals in 11 years is more worthy of stunning grass accolades.

Not really, Rogy was fit as ever at 38...and it looks like Djo and maybe even Rafa will do the same

Definitely, I loved his fitness that shined so brightly after AO 2020 at 38 years of age. Highlight was him injuring his groin after playing a 3:28 hour match against Sandgren. Peak Federer fitness without a doubt.

Didn't Nadal lose to 2019 Federer? Looks like it wasn't that easy to beat him...

So let's compare it with 2020 AO final.
26 years old Thiem against 32 years old Djokovic. Was the latter a dinosaur?
The latter was. But a 26-year-old Thiem was no similarly aged Djokovic, just like a 27 year old Nick Kyrgios this year at the finals was no Djokovic/Nadal/Federer of that same age.

I taste an apple. It’s sour and rotten.
I taste an orange. It, too, tastes sour and rots.
Yet, still, I compare them not.
For they are but apples and oranges,
Two incomparable fruits.

Nah. He had everything under complete control. He was just toying with Fed and allowed him to have those match points just for kicks.

Anyone who saves a MP against Federer's serve is more than a bit lucky. Roger's hold percentage is one of the highest in history.
