“I have no fear, I want to play this match” Alcaraz dixit

After he beat Medvedev in his SF, and knowing that Djokovic was the finalist, he said that.

“I have no fear, I want to play this match”

He really wanted, Djokovic said, "He's hungry, I am hungry, let's have a feast.

And a feast they had.

But Carlitos ended up on top, to the immense joy of most of the Wimbledon crowd, and the world.

Some folks might have thought he was being too cocky, but he sure backed up that statement.

Boris Becker, former Novak's coach said, that he sees that match a changing of the guard.

I think he meant it too. Carlos is built different. He has a certain passion, positive attitude and respect for the game that most players lack. That's why he can learn and adapt so quickly.

In 2021 Alcaraz didn't say anything about winning a major immediately.

It was in 2022, that he said before RG, that he felt he was ready to win a best of 5 tournament.

And indeed he won one.

He's confident, and he shows it.

Before the beginning of W23, and after he won Queens, he said he felt good, but Djokovic was the favorite.

Then Djokovic had something to say:

“Judging with the results I've had here — the previous four occasions of Wimbledon I won, and reaching the other semi-final — I do consider myself favourite.” Djokovic sent a message to the players left in the tournament, saying: “I know that they want to get a scalp, but it ain't happening. I'm very humble!

We know how it ended up, with Djokovic crying.

I know Carlitos has AO24 bookmarked. That'll be more difficult, Alcaraz will have to fight a team of Djokovic and Uncle Craig.
