Nadal cried after USO 2019, he also cried during the AO 2009 semifinal against Verdasco.

I couldn’t really tell you if Rafa has ever cried after losing, I usually turn the channel off in that situation lol.

1993 Wimbledon. Jana Novotna beats Sabatini and Navratilova only to lose to Steffi Graf in the final. Novotna cries on the Duchess of Kent's shoulder during the trophy presentation.

Alex Corretja after losing to Pete Sampras in the 1996 US Open quarter final. Sampras won 7-6, 5-7, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6. Corretja had a match point in the fifth set tiebreak and he double faulted a few points later when match point down.

Can't remember if Coria was crying after losing the French Open in 2004.
No. He just sat in his chair in stunned silence/shock thinking about it.

didn't djokovic make nadal cry once after beating him on clay? i think it was back in 2011 but i cant remember
As far as I'm aware, the only time that Nadal cried after a loss was backstage after the 2007 Wimbledon final. He struggled to keep it in during the post-match interview with Sue Barker, and just succeeded.

Leonardo Mayer, or he was at least close to crying, after failing to convert MPs against Fed at Shanghai

Delpo at the 2016 USO, but that was more to do with what a great tournament he had, in his comeback year.

Did Goran cry after Wimbledon 98? Maybe I'm misremembering something...

no doubt jana novotna started the crying revolution if i am not wrong

During the prize presentation ceremony, a distraught Novotná burst into tears and cried on the Duchess of Kent's shoulder.[12] The Duchess comforted her.[14]

He looked devastated after the match, made suicidal comments and said that he hated "that bloody plate" (i.e. the runner-up trophy). He was miserable for some time after that final, dwelling in particular on the miss
.ed chance to win the second set, which would have given him a 2-set lead.
And what about Agassi after losing to Sampras in the final of the 1995 US Open?, a match that changed everything for the Kid from Las Vegas.

I believe Martina Hingis cried after losing the 1999 RG final to Graf.

Serena cried after blowing a 2nd set tiebreak to Virginie Razzano in that first round 2012 loss at RG, but that was during the match so I'm not sure that counts. I remember being startled/concerned that she was in tears in her chair even though there was still an entire 3rd set to play.

Also, Swiatek crying after her 2nd round Olympics loss to Badosa in 2021.

I don't recall seeing any crying from Agassi after that loss. I am convinced, however, that it made him think something to the effect of "I've been working hard all year, won 7 tournaments in 1995, yet now Pete wins this US Open and suddenly his year is better than mine. What a waste of time, dedication and effort with me winning all those smaller events".

To make it worse she was a set and 4-1 up against Steffi and poised to win but choked terribly, one of the worst chokes ever seen in a Grand Slam final. Poor Jana but she eventually made good by winning the title 5 years later!

From memory, Djoker cried after he lost the following matches:
  • 2008 Olympics SF (vs Nadal) - this was definitely his best chance at winning either Olympic silver or gold, if I lost a match by hitting a DjokerSmash down MP, I'd probably shed a few tears too, that was just a massive facepalm moment, Djoker should have just let that final lob from Nadal bounce before he hit it *sigh*

  • 2014 RG final (vs Nadal) - Nadal in an RG final is like scaling Mount Everest, however Djoker did win the 1st set for a change, too bad for him that Nadal's forehand was dialled in and clicking from the 2nd set onwards, GSM Nadal once that happens

  • 2015 RG final (vs Wawrinka) - this is Djoker's own fault for not finishing off Murray in straights in the semi on the Friday (he would have had a full day of rest on the Saturday), instead he had to duke it out for another 2 hours on the Saturday to win the semi and he would have been a bit physically worn out, full credit to Stan though as he was too good, blasting winners left and right :)

  • 2016 Olympics 1R (vs Delpo) - Delpo just played better on the day in both tiebreaks, not like Djoker got destroyed 3 and 3 or something like that

  • 2021 USO final (vs Medvedev) - the pressure was so immense on him to win this match to achieve CYGS (something last achieved by Laver in 1969) that he turned up a total mental wreck, very unfortunate

Ivan Lendl after his 5-set loss to Boris Becker in the 1989 Wimbledon semi final definitely had tears of sadness and devastation in his eyes as he packed his bag and shook his head. Lendl had led 2-1 in sets and 3-2 (with a break) in the fourth set.

Ok thnx for sharing above info

Is there any youtube video regarding above incident

If you are tennis player who never won a slam, but 4 times slam runner up, which player you would like to face in final & what score in all 4 finals

Nadal had tears after losing his match against Pouille USO 2016. Was a devastating match in his slamless period. At that time i was not sure whether he could win again.

Jana Novotna lost badly to Steffi after leading the W finals. She cried on duchess' shoulders.

I know this thread is about crying after loosing, but I was completely blown away with Nole's breakdown after winning in Melbourne this year. He literally sobbed uncontrollably into his towel on the bench AFTER crying on the bleacher floor surrounded by his team and family. No judgement, it just was amazing. It really illustrated to me just how much weight he has been carrying this past year and a half being the covid villain.
