TP and CC, thanks for your nominations. I would like to clarify something here.

I am guessing that Breaker did not repeat his tour de force awards work this year, because it was too much work for him last year. Therefore, I am not currently planning to edit the OP to incorporate the categories and nominations submitted.

I ask everyone to be a good sport, and if someone happens to have time on their hands and desire to volunteer, at any time over the next few days or whatever, please go through the thread and summarise the categories/nominations in a single post. That way the process can move forward without constant oversight and work from one person.

Some additional comments on the categories and nominations stage of the 2007 awards process:

- self-nominations are not accepted; however, lobbying is permitted; in order to avoid confusion and derailment of this thread, a quiet therapy office has been established for lobbying and other ancillary discussions relating to this awards process - http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=171291

- some obviously male posters nominated for best female have been removed based on discretionary common sense considerations

- I nominated TonLars and serveitup911 into best players category

- for avoidance of doubt from all the joking around, Babolat is actually sponsored by SoBad and not the other way around, yet the AM28143 nomination stands unchallenged

- we would not be doing ourselves any favours by dragging this on; therefore, let’s try to finalise categories and nominations over the next day or two, and then move right on to voting, so we can have closure by year end

I nominate Rickson for best mixed martial arts fighter.

I think that Best MMA Fighter should be a category because the sport of MMA is very popular within the entire world and it coincides with tennis because people of all races participate in it. I also believe it should be a category because there are a lot of MMA fighters on this board that could provide great competition within the category, such as that guy SoBad and that unpredictable assassin Zets.....good enough?

Kevin T is MUCH more knowledgeable than me.

He has a master degree in exercise physiology and a doctoral degree in nutrition.

Comparing me with Kevin T is like comparing a 5.0 player with a tour player.

Best Thread: The Simon Brown thread was a heartwarmer. Kudos to Simon for bringing a human touch to internet relationships.

Best Tennis History information: Moose Malloy

Best Instruction: Bungalo Bill and John Yandell. Although John is a bit more patient (by a whisker), Bill posted more often, particularly earlier in the year. Where have you gone, BILL? :)

Best Writer: I don't remember the fellow's handle at the moment, but he is a superb writer, probably a professional sports writer, who has written about tennis and baseball here. Maybe someone knows who I mean?

Best Female Member: Talk about an oxymoron! :) They don't post enough, except for CC in her one thread. They must have real lives? ;)

Most Willing to fight to the death: alwaysatnet

Person I agree with most: Phil and Ano. Tied!

Person I admire most: That writer guy, above. It sucks having no talent. :)

Best Racquet Person: Breakpoint, though a couple of new guys are coming on strong. Maybe next year he will be passed?

Oh Rickson, what will I do with you? Canadian back bacon is a thin slice of ham, it is not actually bacon. I do not eat bacon as in the fatty fried strips but I do eat smokies which are beef as opposed to sausage which is usually pork. Clear as mud?
