When should I place a bet on Wimbledon?

I want to place a bet on Nadal to win Wimby...but I'm not sure if I should do it now or later. On the site I bet at they have him at 4-1 odds, joko at 3-1 and fed at 1-1...do you think the odds will change as we approach wimbledon? should I bet on Nadal now or wait?

I would want to see the draw and let time give me information rather than tie up my money, even if I was 100% behind Nadal, because I would want to leave some cash aside as a potential hedge against time (things change) and the draw.

Spread the money around (at least a little).

That's an easy question to answer. Wait and by that I mean wait a few more years. You will lose your money if you bet on Nadal to win it all this year. A safer bet would be to bet on Nadal winning the 1st round.

I'm only talking about a $50 bet guys,lol
My real question is do you think the odds on Nadal will change at all before we get to Wimledon?

Of course the odds will change. If Rafa wins Stella Artois, then his price will go up. You should get your bet in now.

dude, make your bet now. If he wins queens he may go as low as 2-1(seriously)

and if Fed loses early at halle...god knows what the odds will be, esp in light of the FO final.

people shouldn't mess around with futures' bets, if you find a line you like, take it.

Do you see any possibility of his price going down?

Nadal is currently at +345. I got him at +450. I don't see the price going down on him. Federer is currently +110 and Djokovic is still at +425. Nadal went from +450 to +345 in one day. That is a huge line movement!

now is probably would be the worst time to place a bet on him, because the preception after his impressive win at french open that he can do it on multiple surfaces, i would wait until he loses at one of those smaller grass tournaments, or struggles against some lesser player, at that point you will probably get a more favorable line.

Doesn't look like it, Nadal destroyed Bjorkman today 6-2,6-2 and everyone already knows that Nadal is the Clay God. So that shouldn't affect the line..but I already placed the bet anyway.

have the odds changed after yesterday?

"Rafael Nadal has been cut from 11/4 to 9/4 at Ladbrokes to win this year's Men's title at Wimbledon after coming back from 0-3 to win the Artois Championship at Queen's.

The Spaniard is second in the betting for the All England Club tournament behind Roger Federer - who has drifted from 11/10 to 5/4 - with Novak Djokovic unchanged on 7/2.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "The last man to win the French and Wimbledon in the same season was Bjorn Borg 28 years ago so history is not on Nadal's side. But he's in such sizzling form that we have had to sit up and take note."

The Harrow-based firm laid a £20,000 bet at 5/1on Nadal to win Wimbledon to a customer in South London last week.

Hutchison added: "At this stage we're cheering on the entire field."

Wimbledon 2008 Odds
Roger Federer 5/4
Rafael Nadal 9/4
Novak Djokovic 7/2"

Spot on.Nadal was 6-1(after monte carlo) and then 5-1 and now he's 2.25-1

I am using a site called playersonly and the odds for Nadal have not changed yet, there still at 4-1...is this strange??? Is this site legit?

I just love how people keep underestimating Nadal. His potential opponents had better not fall in that trap this year!

3-1 on djokovic is a GREAT bet

4-1 on nadal, i'd go with djokovic

then again, at queens nadal was playing the best grass tennis he's ever played

then again, if fed decides to play he's still probably too good for either of them

It would be a dream come true but I got doubts. Fed and Djokovic as well as many others could destroy that hope. Wimbledon is not as slow as the perception by many *******s. Still not a favorable surface to Nadal. We'll see what happens.

He reached 2 finals in a row and pushed a 5 time winner there to 5 sets last year so I'd say the surface suits Nadal otherwise he wouln't have that much success there. The surfaces that aren't favourable to Nadal are those at AO and USO where he has yet to reach a single final(he hasn't even been past quarters at USO yet).Grass suits Nadal and 2 Wimbledon finals in a row and a Queens title prove this.

the way i see it is.

he's one the french for the last several years-they think he'll win there
fed has one wimbly for the last several years-they think he'll win there

now the US open could be where it changes a bit, especially how fed got beat in the semi's on hardcourt at australia(even if he was sick)
