Early odds to win Wimbledon 2008 (ATP)

Roger is still the favorite at +111 but not a prohibitive favorite as he has been in the past. Nadal definitely has value at +450. Federer and Djokovic have yet to play on grass. Only question remains which half of the draw will Novak be in.

Those odds will change after Halle, which if Federer plays he'll likely win; and as Wimbledon progresses.

anyone know what fed's wimbledon odds were a month ago and 6months ago?

i'd have to say that's good value on federer............. although he's had some really rough moments this year. if you beleive the mono, i'd say those odds are a gift.

I laugh at Federer being made that strong a favorite. I would put money down on Nadal or Djokovic. Easy easy money if you guess the right one. The only hard part is which one of Nadal or Djokovic to pick.

Put money on both of them...if either wins, you'll be ahead. I hope you do it, so that when they lose, maybe you'll be poor enough you won't be able to come on these forums and post moronic comments.

Federer is a strong odd on favourite and you must admit that at this point its laughable that you can bet 100$$ on Djokovic and another 100$$ on nadal and earn 400$$+ if any of those two wins. But I guess oddsmakers know what are they doing. Id like to see odds on Roddick ?

Ps - Djokovic has better odds than Nadal right now.

yeah, i'm a bit worried that roger may be on a pretty steep descent right now (and a real one)........... but he's won 5 in a row at wimbledon if not mistaken. hasn't been pushed very often at wimbledon, although obviously the recent trend is concerning.

anyone know what the odds were pre-FO for wimby??

i agree, stupid dirt season is over, now it is time for big boys tennis, if you want to bet rodger now is probably the best time, because once he wins couple of rounds on grass, the line only going to get worse. and i still think that both nadal and djokovic will not do well at big W this year. if somebody has a chance to win Wimbledon besides Federer it will not be those two.

all of the sudden both nadal and djoko look pretty ordinary, hopefully people did not got crazy betting their houses on nadal and djokovic to win big W.

This is a good sign for Fed backers. I'm really rooting for Roger. He's having a horrible year and really needs this win to secure his #1 ranking.

Who knows how far he'll get this year, but Nadal lost in the Quarters last year at Queens, but still made the final at Wimbledon. So I don't think it's necessarily a good indicator of how he'll play at Wimbledon. I would love nothing more than Fed to win a sixth time, even though I have great doubts that he will. Still, I voted for him anyway.

I know this will make me look stupid, but it won't be the first time... What exactly do the numbers by the player names mean? Does +450 mean that if you bet a $100 and nadal wins you win $450? If Fed wins you get $111? If so how are the negative numbers interpeted? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't bet my house on djokovic to win W, maybe nadal. Then again, I'd rather keep my house and bet on Federer.

Yes thats what it means + means there an underdog,you win more money than you bet, if theres a - that means their a favorite and you will win less money then your bet.
